I'm conflicted, on one hand, just another step in the path for a long productive career for Haley in the music business, let's not forget they call it 'the Music
Business', for a reason......So that's good
(I'm sure Haley is thrilled that a song of hers has been picked and performed, justification as a song writer, that others want to perform something you wrote)
On the other, as a long time, 'patient' (

) fan, I feel like this is just another instance of Haley being undervalued as an entertainer. That with her incredibly unique and recognizable voice and infectious personality, she cannot get this acclaim for herself, that she gets the accolade 'by proxy'.
It rubs me the wrong way, a little, that in the middle of talking about how she was inspired to write the other songs on her album, that this gal introduces GYT as if she wrote it, the backstory....a comment on a youtube video does not count as 'giving credit'. (the 'credit' comment for Haley being taken down is telling that they want the song to be connected to this artist only IMO)
I know nothing about this artist, but I've read that she is a fan of Haley's...would it have killed her to take a few seconds to say, "this song was written by a favorite of mine, Haley Reinhart, and I can totally connect with the words...?". If she had given a small hat tip to a fellow artist who is also a 'favorite' of hers... would have gone a long way to making me feel better about this.
I could be wrong, but if Haley was going to introduce a song that was written by a favorite of hers, she would have given them credit... How often have we seen interviews where she is giving credit to people (producers, inspirations, song writers)?
I will get over it, but, right now, Haley not getting the credit, not performing and getting a hit with her own song.... It's a little deflating
