This (see bolded sentence), Sir Himm, is a wise decision. Not only will Haley not be around to see (hear) "how badly we muck up her songs," but it will also relieve pressure to those who feel emboldened enough to try (pre-alcoholic libation/liberation).
And for those intending to participate -- and use a bit of alcohol to fortify your courage, -- if I may offer some advice: know your limits. By that I mean, know how much you need to release the inhibitions/ nervousness but still not embarrass yourself for a different reason. Just a thought....
