I went to youtube & watched A&S BICO cover. Didn't think it very good. IA, it was rushed and def lacking. So, I watched another of their videos (a Civil Wars song)--thought it better.
I'm going to guess that A&S watched Season 10 and saw Caley. Maybe the pairing inspired them to audition as a duo for Xfactor. Smart thing to do. Especially, since I understand the UK xfactor has promoted groups successfully. I would even say that the success of Caley's BICO could have influenced them to do a cover as well.
I wonder if Simon didn't check out Season 10 as well--at least to see what the show would be like without him. He may have seen/heard the Caley buzz. There was a definite buzz--almost every interview those two did--they were questioned about the other. I read a number of comments on boards that Caley could do a Sonny & Cher type of act. (IMO, Caley are miles more talented musically than either Sonny or Cher--it's the chemistry and humor that is the similar ) Anyway, IA--Simon probably does see $$$ signs with A&S. I've heard that the US Xfactor hasn't turned out a successful act yet. Have read on MJ's that the ratings are dismal. Maybe Simon thinks this duo could bring the show some much needed attention.

Yeah--will bum me out big time. I just hope that too much time doesn't pass and the window of their potential pairing closes. IF A&S have success after xfactor--I don't know if Caley will be possible or not. But, of course, Haley & Casey have to follow their own musical hearts.
Still pisses me off that other than releasing their albums Interscope did very little to promote Haley and Concord did next to nothing for Casey.
