New York Times: "Baby It's Cold Outside"

Wow nice unexpected write up in a very prominent, national place

YES! What a surprise! I subscribe to NY Times and it was on my Ipad under US Stories. I posted the following comment, which is pending approval, and who knows if it gets approved, but...

"Thanks for the background on “Baby Its Cold Outside”, and yes Haley and Casey’s version and video are one of my favorites.

As to “BKBilly”'s question, why isn’t Haley a superstar? Good question. Her CD “Listen Up” released in May 2012 was one of the best of the year (IMHO), a mashup of Motown, rock, and soul all accentuated by Haley’s sexy, sultry voice which is so full of colors and tones. Critics compared her to Adele and Amy Winehouse.

So, what happened to “Listen Up”? Interscope, the label, released one single “Free”, a mid-tempo piano-driven breakup song that was probably one of the weaker songs on the CD, and it barely cracked the Top 40. Meanwhile songs like “Hit The Ground Running”, “Wasted Tears” and “Undone” were hit singles waiting to happen. But Haley did not fit into an easy box for radio. No other singles were released, and around Thanksgiving 2012, Interscope dropped her.

In this age of twerking, nude selfies, obnoxious behavior, stints in rehab and more from pop stars, Haley is a breath of fresh air. She is by all accounts a warm, generous and friendly person and her vocal talents are amazing. Check out YouTube for all the videos of her live performances--there are hundreds of them at least. (The Haliens--her fanbase--around the world make sure every performance is taped.) She is working on new music, and she has said via Twitter that a new CD is on the way. Here is hoping that more success and attention are in store for Haley in the future."
