^^rmd, thank you for the clarification and I apologize for misinterpreting your intent

. I rather frequently see statements here that bend my head in unpleasant ways -- all well-intended, but perhaps not thought through like the writer meant, most especially me

.
I grew up knowing someone who, talentwise was probably a hybrid of Haley and Casey (a glorious voice and incredible performer/ entertainer [Haley] and the ability to play anything she laid her hands/mouth on/to [Casey]) and could write anything she needed, a woman who worked her tail off to excel musically and with parents very supportive -- up to the point when she graduated from college, when "teaching" was the only thing her parents found acceptable. I understand why. I think she understood why, but I know that there was, at least, a sense of frustration, and, perhaps, anger for her for a good many years. That, too, was understandable.
Thus, perhaps, I, perhaps, get overly concerned when I see some of the remarks I see about what "we think" she should be doing. As much as I want "jazz Haley," and like KayPea's "ideal world," I know that Haley needs to do is first to establish her career in the direction that
she wants.
Fortunately, for us "jazzbos" she throws some fairly frequent bones.
