There sure is a lot of great talent in those videos. Haley can sing amazingly in any environment along with Casey and his bass. Casey has a solid group of musicians. I like the selection of instruments Casey incorporates into the music. The cajon drum adds a nice beat and vibe to “Song For My Father”.
ISCAT it is because they
are musicians, specifically improv musicians, that they can perform without rehearsal. And there has been preparation, years of playing scales, arpeggios and every other tedious exercise individually (aka woodshedding), and ear training that has led them to be able to form spontaneously and create very enjoyable music on the spot. If you notice, they are all watching Casey for cues (and his cues are subtle). He's watching them as well. He's the conductor, minus the baton -- or rather, his eyes are his baton.
