RE: New song, "Love is Worth Fighting For" - meaning of lyrics, etc.
Haley spoke about some offers on the table in an interview a number of weeks back, I wonder if something significant fell through recently.
In many ways Haley has had it relatively easy following her AI experience. She had the album, then even after getting dropped she was able to travel, participate in writing camps, perform with NOJO, do the big gig with her family and have other cool experiences. And she hasn't had to get a day job.
Now she has gotten into the LA music scene and has been hanging out with various artists, who, to a large extent could be characterized as struggling musicians and performers. I'm delighted that she has been performing more and with various people. But I wonder if being closeup to the struggles and frustrations of other young singers and performers adds to her disheartened feelings. Now that she finds herself in their arena. Many of her contemporaries in the music scene might relate to the message, but otherwise find themselves unmoved by her new song. They had to get the day job a long time ago.
I do think the new song reflects continuing growth on Haley's part. She lets us have a peek at some of her feelings and frustrations, for real. She is paying some dues now. I hope she responds like we have seen her respond to adversity in the past. She has reached that point where many artists get screened out because they aren't willing to persevere.
