Haley's International aPPEAL

Just for g!ts and sh!ggles, I went back to my old haunt before I got on the Haley Roller Coaster.

An ABBA forum that originated at ABBA's official site, but was orphaned when the site decided moderating forums wasn't their thing. So an Uber fan started it, and many followed to it. I was on it for 2 + years and was amused to see that, combined, I might have had 300+ posts (While in less than a year, I've posted close to 4,000 times including Idoloonies, on Haley LOL)

If I remember right, the fans there are, as a whole, relatively elitist, especially for shows like American Idol. ABBA fans have this built in defensive attitude, because even though ABBA are super successful beyond their dreams, ABBA fans are sensitive to the barbs that ABBA are not legitimate in one way or other.

That being said, I thought, what if I give them a quick synopsis of Haley and a couple of 'sample' vids to watch?...I wonder what they would think of her? (There are Americans on this site, but it is primarily international, fans from all over of ABBA)....

They have a sub forum called, "Other Music, Artists and Groups". I clicked there and lo and behold, the first thread was called "Top 5/10 Upcoming Releases we are looking forward to in 2012". I couldn't resist....I felt kind of bad I hadn't posted in nearly two years there, but what the heck....

I'll be interested in their responses..I posted "Free" and GBTC with Irvin Mayfield for them to watch if they want...

Here's my post to the ABBA fans...hopefully they give her a shot..especially after seeing GBTC.

I haven't posted in forever, as I've been enthralled in the last two years by a 21 yr Old Chicago Native who, among her influences, are the Beatles, Corrine Bailey Rae and Etta James.

Her name is Haley Reinhart and she placed 3rd in last year's American Idol. She is a combination of blues, r&b, soul jazz and rock (with a little country). She is unconventional as far as talents goes, and has a beautiful textured voice.
Interscope signed her after the season and has given her unprecedented control over her album which debut's May 22nd. She co-wrote all the songs but one on her album. There are many videos of her performances online. (they have recently blocked her American Idol perfromances in the US).
On the youtube of her recently released debut first single, "Free", you can see she has world wide appeal as opposed to the other Idols, who's appeal is in the US primarily.I have not had an artist move me like this since ABBA.
If you pardon my indulgence, I'd like to post her debut single video and also an impromptu performance in New Orleans with Irvin Mayfield jr, a well respected and Grammy nominated Jazz musician (who recently invited her to perform with him at Carnegie Hall in October...an event that I HAVE to attend ).

I met her personally and she is as humble and pleasant as she is talented. She sounded amazing live, truly amazing....

She is an old soul in a talented, beautiful 21 yr old woman's body...she's flipping amazing and May 22nd can't come fast enough for her debut album "Listen Up!" :love4:

Very nice Tusk. I now realize that your talent for commenting on Haley sites was honed under other artist forums...you will probably hear from some on the ABBA site: "This explains why we haven't heard from Tusk in awhile".
