I feel that we let a certain segment of the population have a "mental health" excuse when they commit heinous crimes. There really aren't too many actual mental health issues that would cause someone to do that. Of course if he is really sick, that's one thing..but odds are it's just another example of a tragic shooting in America, where we use mental health as an excuse to not talk about other elements of the crime. (That go beyond gun control, IMO. But are still things Americans don't want to talk about.)

Personally, I also think it's up in the air about whether he was just after Christina or not, given his weapons and his plan to return back, it's quite possible, and even likely, that Christina's brother saved lives by tackling the man to the ground.
