Anyway, I hope a younger audience can catch on to this new Haley retro vibe, as it is not what I would have ever expected coming from her, but I like it a lot nonetheless. In any event, if “Wonderland” takes off, watch out because it could potentially become a very big song for Haley, and that's what Interscope is probably hanging its hat on.

The song is way back total retro Motown. The drums, sax, harmonies, - the whole thing. Mozella was working some with the "legendary" (nod to Randy) Motown songwriter Brian Holland and writing songs with a real retro sound, so I initially assumed she was a co-writer. Not so. In addition, this may be the only song of the ten on album where Haley is listed as the first composer. This is a Haley song.

This morning before I heard the song I read a comment that it sounded like Fitz and the Tantrums with better vocals. No, it sounds more like the music by artist such as Diana Ross, Martha Reeves, and Aretha Franklin.

It's an awesome song.

I don't know if the song will be a commercial success and big hit in the real world. However, in my world it is already a sterling hit. I liked it the instant I heard it and can't stop listening to it. Like I said, it is hypnotic.

You know this song sort of reminds me of the time when Haley and Casey sang “Moanin” last season on AI, when they first caught everyone by surprise because that kind of performance on AI was so unexpected and unlikely coming from two very young but very talented performers, and then they (mostly Haley) blew us all out. This song has that same kind of impact on me, because it is so unexpected and unanticipated. I didn't know this kind of quality sound was in her wheelhouse.
