Idol's been over 5 years ago, they're all on their own merits, 5 Years on, I'm grateful Haley's 'down' time was used productively so she can reap the rewards, I went to see James recently, he was a very nice guy, very personable. Idol is not a good reason to not see and support him
Oh, I hear ya. I think Scotty's very talented too, and as much as I wanted Haley to win Idol I'm not bugged by her finishing third anymore. I'm an Idol nerd so yeah. I don't take it as a jab if someone calls a personal fave singer of mine an Idol. I do it myself. I don't mean anything negative about that by the way.
I do think that the stigma from the show can be annoying if you're trying to see them as their own artist. Idol started the journey for many talented singers, but it isn't the whole journey. Or the proper bio as one might say. Since there's pre-Idol, during Idol, and post-Idol for those who were on it and made it big in some form. At least that's the way I see it.

lol
I like a few of Scotty's songs, but I'm by no means a country music fan. Idol fan yes. Scotty as a person fan yes. Country music fan? NOPE. I'm curious as one who watched him grow on Idol and as one who has seen him perform once before. Does it matter if I'm more of a casual observer and not a hardcore fan though? Because I know that someone might think that I'm... "Stealing a seat from real fans..." Ok maybe just one person might think that.
Anyway. I appreciate the journey too. And I think Scotty's had a helluva ride so far. Just from my observations. He even wrote a book. That's pretty awesome and I might check it out (along with Melinda Doolittle's and David Archuleta's. Not because they were on Idol, but because I like them. Also I'm curious what they have to say.

) sometime soon.
You have a point. I may just be overthinking this. lol I should just go and enjoy the concert.
