Haley's Next Single/Video???? Thoughts?
So…I wanted to discuss Haley's next single/video release--if OK with PWTB here.
I am hopeful that Haley will at least have one more opportunity to release another song from "Better" as her next single. If that is the case, I have been going back and forth on it, but I think I have settled on "Listen".
At first, I loved "Behave", then fell in love with "I Belong To You", and even thought of "My Cake". But in the end, the thumping bass line, catchy chorus and important message regarding global warming of "Listen" won me over. If Haley was with a record label, they would probably be researching the next single with focus groups, program directors, etc, but that is probably not the case here. The song is not a "pop" song, but I could definitely see it on AC or Hot AC charts.
And, I am not dissing the song "Better". I think it made sense to launch the CD with that fun, empowering song and video as it is the title of the CD. Also, the message in the song I thought might catch on, like "Fight Song" or "Roar". And who knows, maybe it still might. But as has been noted here, "Better" is a fun song for Haley to do live, but the repetitive lyrics I think make it one of the weaker songs on the CD. Just my opinion. And I would love to see Haley have another crack at radio airplay with one of the other terrific songs on the CD.
So, wanted to get folks thoughts/opinions……………………….
