How true! I've read some comments for BIY such as "I'm not interested in an album of covers". Come on! For a huge segment of the listening population, these are brand new songs to them. I know my adult kids (Haley's age) have never heard them on the radio-- unless it was on the Sirius XM station Classic Vinyl while in the car with me. On the other hand, there are quite a few people my age and older (who appreciate a 'real' singer) who remember these tunes, and will feel a connection to the album. That's the brilliance of Haley's/Concord's strategy. There's something for a lot of people.
As to the growling in The Letter, I think the amount was just right. She pulls it out of the bag at the end there, and it was awesome.
