Hi Haley! This question has been on my mind for a few weeks so I’m glad I get a chance to ask:

Is there a specific story or narrative you constructed on What’s That’s Sound? I recently noticed that the track list could be a way of conveying a journey of some sort. “Let’s Start” at the beginning,

“For What It’s Worth”- the narrator sees the chaos/disorder in their world

“The Letter” featured the sound of an airplane at the end, they’re leaving to escape said chaos

“Can’t Find My Way Home” is like the narrator being lost, maybe in life

“White Rabbit”- the psychedelic things the narrator sees on the journey

“Somewhere In Between”- the narrator being caught between their two worlds

“Bring The Love Back Home”- maybe deciding what to change about themselves when they get back home

“These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”- the narrator returns home more confidently?

I don’t know, I’m just spitballin’ here. But I’m dying to know what was your thinking behind the order of the track list.

Wow! I love your perspective. And that's what it's all about... interpreting music with your own unique imagination. I have connected a few of these dots myself yes, but I also like to arrange a soundtrack by the song keys... meaning, how each song flows or transitions into another. For instance, I sing a note at the end of Bring The Love Back Home which matched quite nicely to the Time of the season as well as These Boots (both in the Key of G).

Hi Haley Reinhart. First of all you are the queen of vocals! Would you be sharing a video or a clip or can you give us some vocal warm up tips that you do? I have listened to if not all of your live performances posted online and you are never of key or off in pitch

You are too sweet! I do some warm ups... (not as many as I should) but when I do, I sound like a mermaid summoning a pirate to the sea..!

I have seen the Extra gum add EVERYWHERE! What has been your reaction to its success and your cover getting all this acclaim all these years?

It'd such a dream come true for me... And I never saw it comin'. It's lit a dream senecio to have a song get picked up at radio because of a commercials success, along with the thousands of Shazam's and calls requesting my version.... I still have to pinch myself sometimes thinking, holy moly this thing is platinum!!!

Also, me and my fam still get super excited and or cry every time it comes on the tele hehe

I would love to do more voice over work & plan on it! As soon ad my schedule allows and the right project comes along... or maybe I should just make my own someday hehe!

So there's this Japanese commercial that has one of your songs that we haven't heard before. It currently has over 1.4 million views on YouTube. The question is, is there a full version of that song or was it only used for the commercial?

'Twas only for the commercial... you never know what could happen, but they seem to want to keep it that way. And if so, don't fret! There's more tune to come

My multi part question isn't really that important, but I must know...

Have you watched the Sister Act films? If so have the movies and their soundtracks influenced your music in any way, and lastly can we expect a cover of "I Will Follow Him" at some point in the near future? Maybe with fellow Idol Melinda Doolittle and Post Modern Jukebox? OK. The last part is more of a suggestion, but still!

Hey Haley, we have a few questions we like to ask at all our AMAs over here at r/americanidol. First one: How has your perspective on American Idol changed in the years since you were on the show?

Haley
Hey there! The judges are obvi different along with the producers of the show, so it def changed the structure of the audition process and more so (what they choose to show on tv.) I appreciate all its diff corks & characteristics. Can't speak for the other reality singing shows, but I know how real and authentic Idol is... That's why I'm so proud to have it be such an incredible platform & stepping stone on my journey.

Thank you lovely! I love being out in nature, out on the water (a boat if poss), soaking up the sun and grounding myself. Rollerskating, shopping, and hula hooping are a few of my fav hobbies as well

The judges cracked me up. Very funny and endearing. Loved the first half of the season the most! Love the lil chick with the long hair she whipped around. Hope she keeps shining her light bright!

Thank you! My intuition has always led me, first and foremost. I wrote this song some years back, realized I don't have anything out there quite like this... then came the vision for the video... and then strategy with the A team!

Release radar on Spotify is cool! the more you use Spotify, the more they catch on to your style and feed you new tunes that you're bound to dig! I also loooove shazaming tunes and making them into playlists later!

Indeed... My fingers are crossed for the big screen! I'd love to play a corky weirdo, or an all American girl, a Bond girl, girl interrupted Kinda girl, a 60's throwback chick... so many roles come to mind!
