Wow! This guy, who is from New Zealand, is sensational. I thought I recognized him from a PBS Lucia Micarelli (who is also sensational) special. He does a solo in her PBS (Sebelius mash-up) Kashmir-Zeppelin number (can be found on youtube) that is really impressive. He has also worked with Blood Sweat and Tears. Hopefully he will blend well with the rest of the band. In any event, if Haley chooses, he could provide some really excellent drum solos, perhaps to help open or close the show.
I have tickets to a Lucia Micarelli cabaret show here in Las Vegas in March. I don't know if Dylan will be accompanying her for that performance, but if he is I'll be sure to check him out.
By the way, if you don't know Lucia Micarelli, she is a world class classical violinist who has also expanded into the world of jazz, rock, and pop. She has toured with Josh Groban, Jethro Tull and jazz trumpeter Chris Boti. She had a starring acting role in the HBO series TREME, based on post Katrina New Orleans, where she also sang and learned to fiddle, with authentic bands, in various eclectic styles within the New Orleans musical culture. Worth checking her out.
