Quote:AN IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT (Official Trailer)
I flew to #Vienna and learned three old time-y tunes on the way... Met up with my sister and from sunny skies we drove a van into snowy mountains tops to the @suedbahnhotel_semmering. There is SO much more to this story, I can’t wait to fully express my own experience... I hope that you all check this out! I’m so glad that I was called to go on this spontaneous adventure. I performed in this incredible documentary with a 40 piece orchestra and also took part in conversation of the importance of analog in our very digital world... #animpossibleproject
@animpossibleproject in select theaters, VOD, and digital on June 1st. #ShotOnFilm #35mm #documentary I watched “The Impossible Project” last night. First, here is the description in IMDB: “Humans are analogue. We're literally sick of the digital world engulfing us. People are yearning for real things and authenticity. IMPOSSIBLE is sensuous and inspiring film about the revenge of analog. And the eccentric, crazy Austrian scientist, who saved the world's last Polaroid factory - just when Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone. An entertaining underdog story of a very modern Don Quixote, shot on 35mm. And a sumptuous invitation to fall in love with real things again.”
The movie is very entertaining, gorgeously shot and what a story it tells. I highly recommend it and it is currently streaming on YouTube for $5.
Regarding Haley, her voice is heard at the beginning for about three minutes and at several other points in the movie, maybe four or five times. She appears in a dinner scene and talks on camera. There are two brief live performances, and they do not show the full “Don’t Know How To Love You” on YouTube, but part of it. She also ends the movie, a closeup on her face after she finishes “No Regrets” singing in Vienna.
In the credits, there are four songs related to Haley: “No Regrets” (Edith Piaf song), “No Other Love” (Jo Stafford song?) “I’m A Fool To Want You” (Billie Holiday/Frank Sinatra) and DNHTLY. Here is hoping that somehow these full songs get released. Someone mentioned that perhaps an LP may come of this project. Let’s hope so.
So I am curious on how Haley connected with the documentary film maker. Was he a fan of hers? I know she has talked about it some, but it really is extraordinary that this German filmmaker who has done dozens of documentaries found Haley. And she ends up in Vienna with a full orchestra. Amazing. Love to hear thoughts about this movie and Haley.
