Looks like those two performed a lot together...who knew two of my favorite guitarist would get together that much

I wasn't sure about the Alcatrazz translating because you have to get past the cheesy singing/lyrics and '80's production, but Hey I loved both incarnations with Malmsteen and Vai.

The whole deep Zappa thing never really took hold on me, I prefer to stay in the shallow end on that kind of stuff; but holy trailblazers, that madman sure had some crazy creative talent and some phat-nasty guitar playing skillz. As for little Stevie in the leopards, not sure what to say about that, other than the obvious, both you and Haley wear them better

This is my all-time favorite subject guitars and guitarist. Blues guitar, jazz guitar, classic rock guitar anything with six strings. Hell I even like 12 string guitars. So when it comes to the subject of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, I have to give the edge to my Boy Stevie Ray. Listen to the version of voodoo Chile when Stevie played at Carnegie Hall. You need to listen to it. So the reason why I give the edge to Hendrix is because this. The man copied after his brother Jimmy Ray, and everything he learned Stevie learned on his own. With little to no formal lessons. A lot of players do it that way. And that's not the right way but you can still play a good tune. Your harmonics and scale progressions can sound just as good as someone who's been formally trained. That's where Stevie Rays heart comes in. Better than Clapton? Better than Van Halen or Duane Allman or Jeff Beck don't know it's a hard call. But I heard Stevie Ray say in an interview that he can't read music and doesn't know chord structures or fingering but he feels with his heart and he plays what he feels I play that way also. It's not the best way to go, but it does have its rewards so as far as Little Wing I'll give that one to Stevie also. Most of his songs were played on old beat up 62 Stratocaster with a beat-up Fender amp that had one 15 inch speaker and maybe a few foot pedals like a wa wa, Or a compression sustainer. His guitar was called NUMBER ONE and he SET his action ridiculously high with 14gauge strings.Nobody can play that, but with a few simple effects pedals on old amp and guitar he put out astonishing music.and sound. The Beatles did the same, thing they had the basics but they had a sound that cannot be matched to this day.
