I may be a little biased <grin>, but to me there's nothing more beautiful than a decent looking woman playing Classical or Flamenco Guitar Big Grin

Filomena Moretti - Courante (Bach)

Wiktoria Szubelak - Asturias (Isaac Albeniz)

Liona Boyd – Malagueña (Ernesto Lecuona)

Warning: Buzz about to make a sexist comment...

I completely agree LDH. What stood out to me about these videos besides the excellent guitar playing, were the facial expressions...what's the word I'm looking for...orgasmic? I mean they look like the guitar is part of their core being...one with the guitar. It's a beautiful thing...not my comment, but the aura of a, as you put it, "decent looking woman" playing guitar is very compelling...seductive.

Now if Haley played guitar...well, we would need a whole new wing added to Haley House for all the guys (and probably gals too) in need of treatment... [Image: happy0088.gif]

^ Tom, I miss JB Sad He was such an awesome comedian! You are a master of slipping things into threads, under the wire and in style. [Image: applause.gif]

^^ Buzz: That wasn't a "sexist comment", but this is a sexist reply to it. Tongue

PS. As per your request Buzz, the new wing...

^^ Also Sir Buzz, Haley is good right where she's at because we have the very lovely Ana Vidovic as perhaps the best woman guitarist in the world. In my opinion she's enough to send any guitar loving man (or woman for that matter) to the "Perv wing" of Haleysylum: Home for the Musically Sane.

Ana Vidovic - Altiplanos (Pierre Bensusan)

Ana Vidovic - Vatavina

Ana Vidovic - Medley

And for those of you who are totally captivated like me by watching her play:

Ana Vidovic - Variato

    * Start to 16:00: Niccolo Paganini - Grande Sonata: Allegro Risoluto, Romanze, Andantino
    * 16:01 - 29:40: Bach - First Violin Sonata, BWV 1001: Adagio, Fuga, Siciliana, Presto
    * 29:42 - 38:06: Manuel Ponce - Sonatina Meridional: Campo, Copla, Fiesta
    * 38:09 - 51:00: William Walton - Five Bagatelles: Allego, Andante, Alla Cubana, Smpre Expressivo, Con Slancio
    * 51:02 to End: Federico-Moreno Torroba - Sonatina: Allegretto, Andante, Allegro

RE: Fine Music - Orchestra, Big Band, Classical and Such
Well, this thread has gone silent since LDH made her quick exit (Sweets, if you're lurking, I hope all is well), but Tom22 and all his "MacArthur Park" talk leading to the Maynard Ferguson arrangement, made me nostalgic, so I've gone back to take a listen to the songs on the MF Horn 1 album. Initially, I thought I'd share "Eli's Coming" because I have such fond memories of that one, but it sounds pretty dated now.

However, this one has held up:

I hope a few of you might enjoy. And R.I.P. Mr. Ferguson. (Unless, of course, you've volunteered to fill in for Gabriel when he wants a break ;-) .)
