RE: EUROPEAN "Better" Tour -- Sept 14 to Oct 5, 2016
I emailed XAtlantic to let him know the possible bad news, he did some research and has some info...

Quote: One of the largest ticket selling agencies in Germany (eventim.de) still lists: Berlin, Vienna and Cologne. There is no mentioning of Munich, Frankfurt or Zurich any more. So maybe those stand? Or just haven't been communicated as cancelled yet? Going some other route through their search I actually found: the Frankfurt event was cancelled on Aug. 24. Munich it says cancelled Aug 23.

RE: EUROPEAN "Better" Tour -- Sept 14 to Oct 5, 2016
Pure speculation on my part, but the tweet said that the hole tour got postponed. I assume that some of the shows did not sell well enough, so they got canceled. After that it is probably financially not feasible to keep a hole band sitting in a hotel room doing nothing for days.
Hope that Haley's team will put something out officially soon. Feel really sorry for all the Euro Halians. Hopefully postponed turns out to be postponed and not cancelled.

I had really hoped that the European tour would be a big booster for Haley's career.

RE: EUROPEAN "Better" Tour -- Sept 14 to Oct 5, 2016
Glass half full, maybe they'll reset and do some actual promotion for when the tour actually happens... from what I've heard there's minimal promotion at all. Scott told me in LA that his tour people helped Haley set it up, but thing is, Scott had already got the promotion train rolling with his use of social media, having PMJ fans use their social media to extend the web of promotion outwards. Scott created Buzz.

I guess this is the cost of 'more freedom', you don't have the resources of big media machines for promotion. I'm sure Haley's not happy about the turn of events, but maybe a reset and push is better than going on a tour that has no buzz.

There's also the possibility of some opportunity that warrants such a reaction, perhaps for something greater...

I hate to say it, but, "It is what it is..." I just hope that proper notice is delivered soon and in a timely manner. I dodged a bullet, would be out thousand$, if things went as they were supposed to. I'm sure I'm not the only one that expected to travel a distance to see Haley perform Live, especially those in Europe who never thought she would have a solo tour over there

RE: EUROPEAN "Better" Tour -- Sept 14 to Oct 5, 2016
Thoughts on the Haley European Tour news….

• When it was announced, I thought launching a European tour was pretty ambitious, but I guess they figured her popularity with PMJ might carry over. With any tour, they need promotion and marketing of course, and not sure what was going on with promotion over there.
• Maybe they canceled or postponed since Jacob could not make the dates? I think he was really the foundation of the "Better" tour as the music director, and would be greatly missed and perhaps not easily replaced.
• If the tour is canceled, perhaps Haley could look to add some US "Better" dates this fall to some markets she did not hit the first time around--Florida, Texas, the Northwest…
• And, perhaps this is great news for PMJ-- maybe she will be able to join them on more of their US tour dates. Let's face it, she is a powerhouse draw for PMJ given all the YouTube views in just a year and a half. Hell, I would drive 2-3 hours to see PMJ if I knew she was appearing with them, and I bet a lot of other Haliens would as well.
• If she does have some down time, might be a good idea to start looking at label opportunities again? I know she said was waiting to find a good home, and did have some offers on the table. It would be great if she could find a label that would guarantee her 2-3 CD releases along with some real promotion, and she could embark in some different directions--maybe a jazz CD ala Amy Winehouse, or a country blues rock CD or….????
• As has been said here, "it is what it is" and/or "everything happens for a reason"…
• Finally, I bought some "Better" concert tour T-shirts to resell on Ebay. LOL. Now I guess they will be collector's items as they have the US and European tour dates. I have them up on Ebay if anyone is interested. I have two shirts, an XL and a L. If interested, here is a link: Haley Reinhart Better Concert T Shirt

RE: EUROPEAN "Better" Tour -- Sept 14 to Oct 5, 2016
Last time I checked in there was solid evidence that only the Munich and Frankfurt concerts were cancelled. All the other venues that I checked, including Zurich are still offering tickets. Other than Willie Ray's fb post from last week is there some new information that the whole tour is cancelled? Seems like if the tour is off they ought to at least stop selling tickets, followed immediately by informing people who already have tickets. I'm all for que sera, sera but that would just be good business practice. Maybe we're just jumping the gun lamenting the whole tour being cancelled? What am i missing?

Haha, I feel the same way. Keep checking whether tickets are still being sold, as I'd imagine they'd stop selling immediately and also communicate it to people who have bought tickets already that it's cancelled.

The labels with big media machines can also be a crap shoot as we saw with Interscope. But clearly going it independently means their will definitely be no media machine. Not just in promoting the tour but in everything. The lack of attention toward Better from even some of the friendly media outlets has been stark. The established, larger media ignored it, which is a weak base on which to build. The U.S. tour seemed to go pretty well, but I had been wondering how she would be able to sell tickets in Europe where her visibility is less.

Without the backing of a label one is forced to generate buzz on your own as Scott has done primarily through the use of Youtube, reinforced by a presence on FB, Twitter, and his own website. In addition to weekly uploads of new covers by PMJ, Scott posts regularly on FB and periscopes live appearances where he talks and takes requests for the piano. He is very consistent. He has built on earlier success by having the #PMJsearch, which also functions as a kind of audition for new talent.

But Haley has never shown an inclination to pursue the kind of DIY effort necessary to effectively use social media or other means of promotion. She assembled a team to provide some management, promotion, and website maintenance. But I don't know -- how many are even still around? The is no consistency and there is no communication with fans using available media. One shot events have minimal impact.

Judging from day -to-day FB buzz Haley is best known for her PMJ work. She has also received attention for CHFIL, which was an opportunity created by her PMJ work. Haley is a gifted singer and voice actor, but not so much in organizing, promoting, and other details needed to go it alone. The European tour situation is hanging out there with confusion -- but no communication. She needs a label and a good manager.

So...maybe we all jumped to conclusions about the cancellation of Haley's European tour?

If she was indeed cancelling the whole tour, don't you think she would have announced by now...? Her web site still has all the dates listed.
