RE: Day 1, album #3?
It can be frustrating in this day in age when people we follow on social media unplug for whatever reason, but Haley's been getting better at that. I only wish more people would comment on Idolforums like they used to, but HaleyFans is where the Haley fans went for the most part so yeah...No pun intended. lol Dodgy Tongue

I think Haley deserves some down time before diving fully into a new album. You can't rush art no matter what medium it is.

I do hope for her YouTube presence to increase a bit, and for her channel to be updated as well. The vids with PMJ are amazing, but heck I wouldn't mind a Haley vlog or two or a behind the scenes of her songwriting process. Something like that. No matter how old fashioned a singer/band is they can't totally remove themselves from things like YouTube/Twitter/Facebook. Haley knows this too I'm sure.

For 2017....I'd like to see another American tour and more new music. I don't think it's impossible.

There's a few folks from Idol who will be releasing new records next year. David Archuleta and Kelly Clarkson just to name a few. And on a non Idol note Hanson will be celebrating a big anniversary...25 years as a band and the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album. Big Grin Sorry had to plug what could be the start of another musically awesome year. lol Blush

Anyway....Haley could take a year off if she wants, but I think it would be cool if for once a person from Idol didn't do that. lol jk I will admit that it's hard following some singers from the show. Some either take years between albums or stop making music all together. Thankfully Haley is somewhere in the middle. Making solid music and finding other creative outlets to promote herself.

I think it's hard to know what to expect from Haley because she keeps surprising us left and right. Smile

Oh, and as far as album 3 goes...Let's coordinate that with an acting debut. Preferably the currently non existent Sister Act movie based on the musical and set in the 1970's. That she could easily star in....lol jk

I will say this to conclude my rambling post though...If we compare the overall sound of her first two albums then there's bound to be a continued growth in musical creativity as she improves as a singer and songwriter. Because while "Listen Up!" was pop leaning "Better" (Still haven't heard it in full so bear with me...) sounds more mature and even soul leaning. In other words...I have no idea what a third Haley album will sound like. I'm hoping for a continuation of overall cool lyrics, beautiful vocals, and creative album art visuals. Wink

I used to post over there, most of the recent posts are mine.... I already post here more than most, I post regularly on Instagram and edit and post videos regularly for youtube as well as daily on Twitter... Idolforums is an echo chamber, I post stuff, no body comments, so why post? Tongue

This doesn't happen when she has a team to do it, they're usually one shot deals. So might as well accept it, we might get spots here and there, but it's been almost 6 years, that's not who Haley is. As long as she continues to bring us beautiful music while living the life she works for and wants, I'll be in.

Besides, Super stardom means fewer intimate shows, where Haley shines. She needs to find her line, her comfort zone how and where she enjoys performing. Quality over Quantity, Soul over sales Tongue

As many shows as I've seen, as long as the thrill is still there, I'll keep going Blush

I've edited almost 5 hours of video into one hour of behind the Scenes from Show Me Your Moves video shoot. I've loaded it onto a flash drive, I've uploaded it and DM'd her the link. I've told her a couple times I'm willing to give all the video over for her team to edit. I just edited it down so she can see the type of stuff we had, she wouldn't have to look over 5 hours worth, I could probably cut it down to 30-40 minutes.

That is in addition to over 50 newly edited HD Videos I've loaded onto a flash Drive sent to Harry, some video I've never posted but are excellent audio.

Haley has told me she would like to use some on her channel, she mentioned the 2nd most viewed video on my Channel, Dream a Little Dream of Me as well as At Last.

Haley is just not a Behind the Scenes, YouTube, vloging kind of person, if someone else (Casey, Ariana, Morgan, Sarah, Scott etc..) is not posting it, we won't see it from Haley.... she's pretty 'old school' in that respect, unplugged

There is a caveat, however, she could finally decide to give up the reigns to a manager to organize regular social media postings... for now, she seems to like being in control and there's no denying she's getting results, even if it's not at a pace some might like

IDF as a whole is slowly tuning out as a website so it's no big deal if Haley doesn't have a big presence over there. I guess as a fan seeing a previously active and even promoted section of IDF low in visitors is saddening. However all singers from the show have low presence on that site so it's ok. Just miss going on the website daily personally. Sad

Again as someone who doesn't watch T.V. that much and is turning to places like YouTube for entertainment it would be nice to see Haley more active on there.

She's not as old fashioned as some might think. If she was she wouldn't have a Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube account. Or even a official website. All things she could be more active in during the times when she's not performing, making music, or spending time with friends and family. Even the most old fashioned tech phobic musicians know that online presences help to entertain fans and potential new fans and to sell product. Heck she's done pretty good with PMJ and a T.V. ad alone. Those are out there for people to see and hear, and it's pretty awesome. Wink

I agree that Haley needs to find her comfort zone. Once she finds that she's golden. Heart A fellow Idol her age David Archuleta recently found his and you can tell how much more comfortable he is as a performer, musician, and songwriter. Smile

I'm all in for her continuing to bring us beautiful music and for her to tour in more intimate locations. That's where fellow Idol fave of mine Kris Allen shines. I'm not name dropping for the heck of it by the way. lol Though if either one ever decides to collaborate with Hanson you'll notice my online fan reaction instantly. Tongue

I've only seen Haley live once, but she was very good. I'm still sad that I missed her and Kris in Pittsburgh this year. I only hope that 2017 is full of gigs for her because I really want to help in the fan promo department so to speak. She isn't easy to photograph when she's performing, but I'll try my best when the time comes. Big Grin

Tusk you do a wonderful job promoting Haley. There's no doubt about that.

As a fellow fan who doesn't get to go to many concerts a year I appreciate it when fans post videos from concerts so thank you! Smile

That's awesome that you have behind the scenes footage of the "Show Me Your Moves" music video. Now that's exactly the kind of stuff that should already be on her channel. Tongue

If Haley had any say in her promo she'd probably be selling vinyl instead of digital or CDS, and I'd happily buy some from her. Wink I know she's not the vlogging type. I think she'd be good at it though. I know I'm not the only one who finds certain aspects of a singer's life interesting. Would be cool if she ever decides to let us into her creative zone.

If she had someone else posting for her I wouldn't enjoy that. I'm glad she has so much creative control. Especially in her music. I love it when singers/bands especially know how to be visually creative, and Haley is one of those people. Cool

Also this is why Haley needs a street team or a official fan page. There's plenty of wonderful fans out there who could help in that department...

I guess that like yourself I'm just wishing more for a fave singer of mine. One day I hope Haley has all of the things I see other artists have. If she wants it all that is. lol Blush

Oh, and I should probably post more on here, but I do follow what happens on this site and elsewhere online.

RE: Day 1, album #3?
I'm pretty convinced by now that Haley doesn't have to do all the social media stuff because of one thing that others simply don't have going for them (or just a very few): every time she does something, people are awed and impressed anew. She instantly convinces people who know what the real deal in music is. So while other people fade into obscurity if they do not build a following, Haley knows (I think) that she'll get opportunities simply because of what she can do, because she'll be recognized as it was with the Extra Gum ad, and that those opportunities will work on a level that may be sufficient to live on, to some extent. So she can re-start and re-start, i.e. live not on a carefully crafted career arch, but as simply an artist who knows they deliver. Just theories, thoughts, speculation ...

At this point, I don't expect anything, someday something will appear out of nowhere such as Creep in Lyon, and I really do look forward to that, and to what a third album will sound like. It could hit sales next year, or in two years, or in three ... multi-year gaps between major works are normal I think for real artists, can't keep the hype going all the time. But I'll be there to buy it for sure! It'll be great, and the truth is, there are so many directions I could imagine.

The other side of my little line of thought here is that if she doesn't do it, the fans who are really engaged have to do it themselves, for themselves. And that is exactly what happened: Tusk and Miguel are forefront of the twin side of the Haley way, providing the avenues with so much passion to all of us to engage, while Himm provided HF headquarters for all. Someone like me outside of the US universe who did notice Haley early during Idol would most likely have lost track big-time by now without that.

Let's see how we bridge into the next launch of something!

I pretty much see it this way. Haley doesn't care for a lot of the promotional activities, but loves to sing and write. So she does the things she likes to do, which is also where her talent manifests. She could easily blow us away with her next project. At anytime. And if she needs some cash at some point she could tour a little with PMJ or do some other gig.

Well said, much shorter than my garbled words :-) - but don't you think that her ambition does run farther than that, all told? I have no idea, but I'd think it likely does. Which wouldn't contradict what you wrote, either ... so happy holidays! See y'all next year!

RE: Day 1, album #3?
I've been one that really hasn't been as keen on Haley necessarily needing to be a pop-hits star as long as she was making good $ as a writer or whatever in the industry..even the voice over stuff. (at the same time I hope that she , like everyone attains their dreams ... so I wasn't rooting against that either).

At this point though.. with this album... It really would be nice to see her get a hit here because I think pop music is at a place where her voice would work really well. Justin Biebers more recent songs.. so many other songs in the top 50 really let you hear the clean voice of a singer expressing thoughts ..

I really loved Haley's Better tour with it's Rock-on sort of sound... but it really was a fit with my 50 year old taste....

Out on my Tom22 giving opinions where I have no real inside knowledge:

... hmm, how to put this?

Sell out? yeah... I think that the current hits are really not that bad of a sell out so, reverse-engineer them ... include stuff that might not be her first choice feel (what was that millennial yodel thing she dissed ? lol). I know it's not that simple.. plenty of pop-stars are in permanent sell-out mode but.. Haley's clever.. she might know exactly how she could sell-out and make it work !

She's built herself plenty of Jazz creds with her appearances with PMJ and covers that Tusk has caught and promoted. She's been able to explore her own sounds in two albums... and a sell-out to the current vogue wouldn't hurt too bad anyway.

Important disclaimer, what I post is purely a point of view from my experience, I claim no true, legitimate knowledge regarding Haley's plans or what she's hoping for.... that being said....

I get what you're saying, but what Haley said about the Beatles in the Josh Wolf interview stuck in my head, about how they found their own way, they pioneered without 'selling out', "who stopped them"? IMO might give us some insight into what she expects of her self regarding song writing and her focus in a music career.

"Hey Jude" forced radio stations who usually play 3 minute songs to play longer songs.

I'm like you, it's not important for me that she becomes an Uber Super star. I'd be happy if what she wants for herself is that she lives the life she wants, based on her choices, her mistakes, her gains, keeping her sanity by not diving into the musical/social/media quagmire of representatives and all powerful labels (see the current situation with XFactor Super stars 5th Harmony (ironic Tongue ), while being a success as Haley defines it. I'm totally OK with that. It keeps her focus on the music she wants to create...when you encounter a natural talent like Haley's, you give it room to blossom, not tie it down and force it to be what you think it should be.

Haley's is a slow burn, our society of the 21st century demands the instant, the flashy...sometimes you get the best result, in the end, by patience and perseverance.

I agree with John in the respect, Haley has the confidence to 'turn it on' when she desires...add that she has a patched up together social mechanism in her fans that promote her, without much effort, she maintains a social media presence, a slight one, but it's there to keep the pilot light on until such time she's ready and rested with new material and new ways to wow us....

I know I speak as someone who's completely biased in support of Haley, but if you can step back and look at the bigger picture, you would see how much she's accomplished pretty much on her own and thanks to her natural talents and organic support mechanism Tongue

PS... having Dina and Ole in her corner early in her career, after being unceremoniously dropped from Interscope was HUGE. They are an integral part of the business side of her career, that has helped foster and nurture her through the years. Things could be alot worse if she didn't have the serendipity to align herself with them Cool
