Haley's greatest challenge is clearly genre. She realizes she's uniquely gifted as a jazz vocalist, but her heart is in rock and she loves singing funky-disco. She'll likely struggle with finding this balance her entire career. The blessing and the curse of versatility.

I just hope she at some point follows her miraculous, once-in-a-lifetime, God-given gift as a jazz/blues vocalist, because it would be a waste of true greatness to keep that prodigy limited to just an occasional bit-player with Casey. My dream is for her to become primarily a jazz/blues singer who will also slay rock, funky-disco, R&B and Motown on occasion. Kinda like Kelly Clarkson is doing as a pop singer who also delves into rock, soul and country on the side.

Tremendous interview! She sounds years senior to her real age and I bet that her level of maturity is already paying off bigtime for her.

I'm pretty hopeful that the Lolla gig is going to give her a little more notoriety but where my biggest hopes for her are for when she does the Mayfield gig at Carnegie Hall.. I hope that her career gets sparked like lightening in a bottle from that one. The right people there and a major inroad into the Jazz community. I think that she's going to blow many minds with that gig. I certainly hope that she gets some really significant stage time with him and that it in a big way helps launch her into that genre, where I personally think is going to eventually become her forte!

Isn't Casey going to be there too?

That's part of the reason, at the last minute, I decided to go to LA to see her, instead of pinning my hopes for seeing her at Carnegie. Not only will the number of tickets be really limited, I knew that Carnegie will be mostly Irvin Mayfield jr. and his band. Casey and Haley would get three, maybe four songs total, if we're lucky (duet and/or solo's).

It's doubtful Haley and Casey will be there the entire time at Carnegie. It will, however, be another chapter to their musical relationship
