RE: Curiosity Rover's Risky Mars Landing
The NASA coverage is more like a television broadcast. It has an anchor.

Rover likes to talk smack.

It once was one small step... now it's six big wheels. Here's a look at one of them on the soil of Mars #MSL pic.twitter.com/uzO99NZz

I've been trying to suggest this as a theme song. There are at least some bits that work.

Mars to Rover...

^^ Indeed, LD. The modern world.

It is impressive in so many ways to have a satellite that orbits Mars snap a photo of another craft in the process of landing.

This panorama is from one of the existing Rovers but it's is a cool look at the Martian landscape (Add: this is made from old images -- not from the Curiosity rover):

LOL ~ Wow Dr. J, that's quite an impressive Martian Mall we have happening there on the surface already. Is it live or a memory recall implant? Just another few days and a trip to Mars will be a vacation option. [Image: rolleye0003.gif]

The panorama is several years old - just showed up on a search.

But here is some stop-motion video taken by the Curiosity rover as it descended:
