Haley reportedly splits with Interscope

I'm guessing Interscope saw the spectacular performances Haley did on AI and was betting on more of the same. It didn't happen. Her big shot at introducing Free to a large AI audience didn't work out well. Her album was good but not good enough to generate enough buzz to get high sales numbers. She didn't develop a touring act good enough to attract large numbers of new fans. Maybe she will become more marketable but Interscope doesn't want to keep investing based on the results of the past year. It's a business decision. They need artists that will pay there bills. It's now up to Haley to find a new investor or do it on her own.

Going forward, think of number 5 Kellie Picker who managed to become successful. Cute girl. Great personality. Average voice. She was in town recently as the only act at a venue with 1000+ seats and tickets sold for $30 to $70. Haley is talented enough to do as well or better. Depends on how hard she works at it.

You are a "Fan" of Haleys aren't you?? Perhaps you have not followed her body of work this last year as closely as some of us? Haley did everything she could, with Interscope not pulling their weight in how they promoted (or rather DIDN'T promote) her. Her album WAS AND IS good enough. And lord knows, she has worked hard. She put together a great band with some very talented musicians. Haley didn't drop the ball on this thing.......INTERSCOPE DID! As an "unconditional" fan of Haleys, I find your message a little offensive.

I was a little put off by it as well. Haley has worked her heiniken off this year and that album is one of my all time favorites!! Interscope made little attempt at advertising Haley, it turns out the majority of her bigger placements are Ole. I am convinced Interscope had nothing to do with Lolla, I think it was Haley and her spectacular album, voice, personality that did it. Interscope postponed her single release, postponed her album release, then never released a 2nd single. IMO they really dropped the ball and to say Haley didn't work hard enough is a rediculous statement.

Ther are some folks that are saying that the Hales should shair some of the blaim also WTF she did like she said , stayed true to herself, and came out with some music that would go great with backgrounds for a movie. not saying this bout you danzeb but there are always dickheads that have to see things in a negitive light. I choose to be positive.

Also, in response to the cost of the album, Jimmy said something to this effect toward the beginning of this past AI season (around March when the live shows started): "People don't realize how expensive it is to make an album, when we make an album it cost over a million dollars- it's a big risk for a record company" I had a feeling at the time he was talking about Pia, but maybe he meant Haley.

Ok guys and gals, I saw Harry Reinhart tonight playing with his "Harry and Peter project". Had a lovely time and heard some great music. Harry said Haley will be playing in Las Vegas with Keith and Courtney. And that she will be playing new songs (from LU), covers, and maybe some jazz too.

He also mentioned that Haley hopefully would be signed to a new recording contract "in the next few months".

And Haley's stage it performance WILL BE a "family affair". Harry said he is definitely performing with her, and it sounded like her mom and sis might be joining her also.

Awesome Babbs! Can't wait for the stageit show. So much fun! Did it sound like Haley was in talks for a new contract to be signed, or if she was still looking?

I thought Harry would say Haley was gonna get signed any day, but he made me feel that HE hoped she would get signed soon, but that it was going to take some time. It didnt sound like she was in talks with anyone yet. I could be wrong so don't quote me on this.

The thought occurred to me this morning that it might have been Haley's people who leaked the news of her parting ways with Interscope and that they did so to publicize she was available.

The story originated with the LA Times so the source was probably located there. Might have been Haley's management. Or it could have been someone at a rival label that they approached. I don't think Interscope has anything to gain by publicizing the loss of one of their artists.

In any case, once they have a label that's interested it might take some time to hammer out the details. Haley's signing with Interscope wasn't confirmed until two months after the show ended.

Yup, she's no longer listed at Interscope. Was there just a few days ago.
