Haley says -"If you know you're made to do it I don't think anything is going to stop you, especially nowadays when you don't really need a label anymore." Interesting-I don't think I've heard her thinking along those lines before.

RE: Haley's going to Singapore
Good ol' Himm. Prior I had actually attempted to read the small blurry picture of the article and that failed miserably. Thank you for coming through with this easily readable version--even if it IS incomplete! (Just kidding, buddy. I'm happy to be able to read any of it. Hee hee.)

Being dropped by her record label was shocking, but it isn't the end of the world.
Haley Reinhart made headlines in November last year when US record label Interscope decided to part ways with the American Idol Season 10 second runner-up.
Interscope has artists like Madonna, Van Halen, and South Korean group Girls' Generation under its wings.
Reinhart, 22, told The New Paper in an interview in Singapore on Thursday: "It was a setback for about a day and I just let it simmer."
The soulful singer from Illinois recalled everything happening very quickly - from being signed to getting dropped.
"It was all very fast and also very political. I got signed by Interscope before we went on our post-Idol tour, so that was great," she said. "I didn't know what I was getting into and I was presented this offer and I took it."
But instead of diving straight into her album, Reinhart decided to wait until after the post-Idol tour was completed.
Her 10-track album Listen Up! was only released in March last year.
Despite the label calling it quits on her eight months later, the curly-haired beauty doesn't rue any of it: "I don't regret any of it."
She explained that she had a good time with Interscope.
"They really let me do things freely. They let me write an album that I wanted to write and now I'm just going to continue doing that... I'll just look for a place that really connects with me as an artist and find exactly where I fit.
"It was the start of something amazing and I got to release an entire album with their support, so it was great," said the singer.
Not having a record label isn't stopping Reinhart from achieving her dreams as her schedule continues to be packed.
Reinhart said: "Aside from being in awesome Singapore (to celebrate FOX International Channel's welcoming of Sports to their family), I've got this Fight Night gig coming up where we honour (former heavyweight boxing great) Muhammad Ali, which will be held in Arizona, and after that we're headed to Japan and Bali too.
"Even with that, I'll still be working on my music and an upcoming EP, so I'll be keeping busy as usual."
Reinhart still has fond memories of the popular reality singing competition. She admitted to being naive about the business when she joined Idol.
"All in all though, it's about your drive and knowing if that is your destiny, as cheesy as it sounds," she said.
"If you know you're made to do it, I don't think anything is going to stop you, especially nowadays when you don't really need a label any more.
"If you've got a good team behind you, you can accomplish a lot of things and be a big success."
The long-running competition has seen its fair share of male winners, but some say the trend will be broken this year.
"There is a definite emphasis on women as a whole and they are really bringing it to the table," Reinhart said. "And I have a big feeling it will be (a female winner this season)."
American Idol Season 12 is aired every Thursday and Friday at 6pm and 8pm on Star World SingTel mio TV Ch 301 and StarHub Ch 501 and 555.
With the emphasis on the ladies, does she feel she would have had a better chance of winning it had she joined this season instead?
"There's that chance. I don't want to sound pretentious or anything, but I think there would maybe be a better chance for someone like me if I were around this season."

RE: Haley's going to Singapore
There's quite a bit of good info in this article. The bit about not really needing a label now days, about finding a label that gets her as an artist, and especially the part confirming that she's working on an EP (rather than an album).
I go back & forth on this, but I think an EP makes a lot of sense right now. She'll be able to put out new music (showing a different side of her sound), start touring and trying to get a single established much sooner & w/ less investment than an album would require. If I had to guess her new EP will be available on itunes, and they'll print a relatively small amount of CDs, available thru her website & at her shows, but not in stores. That eliminates a lot of costs up front.

I have a friend that constantly scoffs at me for buying discs of movies I enjoy and people have been shouting the demise of discs as a media for some time now.
So maybe Haley and her people, being the young people they are, might be willing to be more forward thinking about surviving in the new age of digital media and technologies.
So much to look forward to what Haley has in store for us
