I had been receiving some negative feedback before the whole thing which ratcheted things up, in my mind. Not an excuse, because I had those concerns to begin with, but the comments did exacerbate them...

I need to remember, I am just a fan, and sometimes, without knowing the facts, I shouldn't make general assertions, especially if they might be hurtful

I've had people volunteer that I should contact them so they can 'smack some sense' into me, next time I feel the need to further embarrass myself....so that should help

Back on topic, people are still donating, it seems the autographed cd was a smart option to add, up to 41, that's $1640 since it was added

You do an incrdible job and you should never doubt yourself or the recognition and appreciation people have for what you do.

I've never met any of you, but the quality of your exchanges, and how you deal with such things that bubble up, have been a huge factor in my continued attachment to HF - it is so different in so many other forums and places. It really says something about you all.

For me, you, Tusk, are the person who wrote with such awed respect and consideration about that amazing Carnegie experience.

Seriously though, "it takes a village", and others contributions, the sense of community, makes it worthwhile. Your enthusiastic posts are all part of the fabric. I admit that I am very pleased that the work We do, Haley's fans, have reached across the oceans. I really appreciate your comment, XAtlantic, and those of other's abroad. It affirms that Haley's talent does affect and motivate people. It is a sobering, yet great acknowledgement that we, in our own way, have extended her musical reach (*Pat yourselves on the back)

I need to add, without Miguel, as my 'sounding board' it could be much worse. Poor guy has been the recipient of many of my late night 'releasing of pressure' DMs, so they don't spill into his forum. Thank you, Miguel for your patience

Melanie Martinez released an indiegogo funded video and 2 months later signed with Atlantic records and is going on tour

So awesome for her (that song is great, btw)

Hopefully Haley has similar results!

edit: And Tusk..I've said it before, but I can't express how much gratitude I have for you (and anyone else who records Haley!). Some of us haven't gotten to see her live..and it's a joy simply to see her perform on youtube.

But like you said..next time, whenever you start to worry..just remember that Haley Reinhart is an incredibly intelligent and talented girl with a supportive family and friends around her. She's not going to be led astray..just trust her.

Oh Buzz, if only I could have your perspective of levity, I might not take things more seriously than they actually are.

I think I let the 'worry' that this project go well for Haley get to me, that it magnified the importance of things. The "Energizer Bunny" moniker that Buzz has so, embarrassingly but accurately applied to me, is both a blessing and a curse.

As you age, gracefully, the "don't sweat the small stuff" mantra moves to the forefront. You really understand how 100 years from now no one is really going to remember or care what you or I did. I've had some really big highs and some really big lows in life...quite the adventure. I've always had a sense of humor that enabled me to not take myself too seriously.

I love passionate people, people that care about excelling at things. So when I used the Energizer Bunny analogy for you Tusk, it was not derogatory...I really was impressed with the energy you put into everything. If you could bottle it, I would take $100 worth.

Obviously, the center of attention here is Haley, but for all of us this has been an exciting ride also. It takes a lot of different personalities and a huge cross section of generations to complete the Halien Nation. It's been fun, and there are going to be a lot more interesting and fun things ahead for all of us and The Slayer.
