Once again, it's time for my Haley after-event HF post. First off, let me thank my (Chicago) Halien friends for welcoming me into the fold once again! Buzz and I drove down to Chicago from Minnesota on Wednesday and the fun began! We stopped for lunch in Wheeling and it just so happened that our waitress's daughter (who is a big fan of Haley) is currently dating Haley's old boyfriend and it's where Angie used to work. The Reinhart footprint is in evidence in Wheeling!
We gathered at Steve's before heading out to downtown Chicago where once again we encountered a lot of traffic. We all met Laura, a sweet Calien who came in from Maryland and we took off in 2 cars. We stopped at a Walgreens along the way and picked up lollipops for a later picture with Ariana, the daughter of TV's "Kojak", Telly Savalas.
When we made it to the restaurant to have a bite to eat before the concert, I looked in my purse and to my horror, I couldn't find my venue or VIP ticket!! Luckily, the restaurant staff who says they encounter this all the time, was able to print me up a ticket from my email. I'd like to say I was calm during this incident but in truth I was a basket case until I had my tickets back in hand!!! To come so close and unable to attend would have been devastating!! When I told Harry later about losing my tickets he said they would have somehow gotten me in, which made me feel better. Otherwise, I'm sure someone would have taken pity on a sobbing woman outside the venue!
At the VIP Meet and Greet everyone was introduced and naturally the biggest cheers were for our favorites. Haley looked great as always. We decided we wanted to be last in line for the pictures because we wanted some extra photos with the cast. We all had our individual ones taken and then I handed out packs of Extra gum to pose for a picture with Haley. She said she was going to show the picture to the Wrigley people (who make Extra gum) at their next meeting. I guess, for evidence that her commercial has produced results, which it has, because I changed my gum choice because of Haley. I figured, since Extra gum gave Haley a chance doing the commercial, the least I can do is support them. After that picture, we took the picture of Ariana and the lollipops and recited the Kojak line, "Who Loves Ya Baby?”. She was thrilled and thanked us for doing that.
From the PMJ concert in June that I attended, I had playing cards printed up with separate pictures of Haley, Casey, Ariana and Sarah on each of them. I wasn't sure how it would go over since playing cards don't seem to be used as much as they once were, but they all loved them and assured me that indeed they do play cards on the bus and will use them.
Right away after pictures, we positioned ourselves in the front row by the rail and off to one side so we weren't directly in from of the microphone. Since I never once looked at my watch I don't know how long we had to wait for the show to start but someone said it didn't start on time. There was a young guy (he looked just like Casey and I had to do a double take. Actually, wouldn't that be just like him to hide in the audience?!) that came by himself and killed time by reading a book with a reading light and earbuds. With all the commotion and noise, it was a wonder he could even concentrate.
I didn't bring my nice camera along this time around but decided to give Periscope a shot. I tried it for the first time earlier that afternoon in the hotel. I apologize to anyone who had to witness me looking blankly into the screen wondering how to work it. But actually, it's really easy and it's as basic as pointing and shooting. I didn't have WiFi but was on the data plan instead, using up whatever was left on the plan after my son has been doing all his nonstop snap chatting. I had initially planned on Periscoping just a couple songs but it was easy enough that I just kept with it for almost the entire show. I had an external battery hooked up to my phone the whole night and even after I taped the show and took post party pictures; I still had over 20% left when I got back to the hotel. From some of the comments I received it seemed like people enjoyed seeing the Periscope broadcast and I was happy to do it especially for all those Haliens that don’t get a chance to see Haley. 
The show was fabulous and as quick paced as always. There's something exciting going on onstage at all times. A nice addition from the June show was Sarah having a beat/tapping duel with the drummer (can't think of his name). The highlights for me were Ariana's vampy performance and of course the star of the show, Haley, and her emotional performance of CHFIL. At the time, I was mildly annoyed that Puddles came on stage and danced with Casey but after looking at the videos, I'm much more annoyed. I feel that it was inconsiderate that he upstaged Haley's tender moment. The couples dancing in the background enhanced the moment but his theatrics took away from it. Judging from the crowd’s reaction though, they seemed to enjoy it, but as a Halien I'm much more sensitive about how it affected her performance.
By the way, I later found my missing tickets in my hotel room. I had taken a hotel perks card and brochure out of my purse and unknown to me underneath them were my printed tickets. I had never checked that they were in my purse when I left the hotel because I "knew" that my tickets were in my purse. 
It was a wonderful time in Chicago (except for the snow we could have done without) that included a performance of the musical Elf, a tour from Penny of ALYCE Paris (thousands of gorgeous dresses), spirited ping pong at Steve's (we all tried to beat Buzz with no luck, he is really good) and a fantastic Midnight concert. Loads of fun spent with special friends!

Thanks for the report, wish I'd been there, looks like it was one special event, pretty cool for the PMJ's to give Haley a special moment for a performance in front of her hometown audience, just like last time 
The timing of Haley singing CHFIL then jetseeting next morning to NY is just another example of the serendipitous path that has lead Haley since we were 1st aware of her. What's important is Haley didn't allow setbacks, negativity and misfortune to knock her off the course that appears to be laid out for her. She has always had her antennas up for "the signs"

Maybe I was the only one, but during Pat's periscope (thx again Pat ), I was so focused on Haley, I never even noticed the 'disturbance' following Puddles' entrance, at all. Someone suggested Haley had to compensate to overcome the crowd reaction of Puddles entering the scene by bringing up her volume. After several viewings of the performance, I believe the bringing up the volume at the end was actually intended and not as a result of Puddles. The Band all increased their levels for the Finale, matched by Haley's vocals. If you watch Todd Schroeder, PMJ'S musical director, you can see him emphatically gesturing towards Chip, the drummer. The ending Finale, Haley ending in a glorious bombastic flair was going to happen, with or without Puddles and the crowd reaction to him.
Finally, one true fact I know about Haley is that she loves when you support her friends and associates, I've witnessed it many times, the last at Laguna when she said, "it's so cool you support my friends" when told her I was seeing Morgan in 2 days. It's why I try not to post disparaging comments about her friends.
This was further reinforced when I posted Ken's video of Puddles singing Royals. Literally minutes, less than 3 minutes after I posted it, Haley retweeted and favorited it, much to my surprise. The quick retweet was the surprise, not that she was supporting her friend and fellow PMJ performer. Made me wonder if she had been reading some of the comments made about her friend, the retweet and favorite indicating that maybe it didn't bother her....
I understand the performance was meaningful for many fans, but it didn't ruin it for me, Haley rose to the occasion, and for me, at least, she was all I focussed on. It still was a fantastic performance, a memorable moment in front of hometown fans, that's all that matters....That Ole tweeted it out, and even MJ used it as a triumphant live performance of the song in her article about CHFIL, maybe it's possible that it wasn't 'that' big a deal? Just another facet of something that Haley will look back upon and cherish...

Tusk, I believe it didn't bother Haley either. I never noticed any visible sign on her face to indicate annoyance or distraction when Puddles came on stage and I never said there was. I indicated that this was MY opinion and MY opinion only and if in my opinion I state that I was annoyed I should be allowed to feel that way and state it. If I felt it was inconsiderate I don't believe it was a disparaging comment about him as a person or his character but as an action. Honestly, I shouldn't have to defend myself on here and maybe in actuality you are disparaging me from stating my opinion. I don't come on here often and maybe this is why.
