RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour
I used to work with a woman from the Czech Republic -- lovely person inside and out. Her husband was a photographer (American) and had some stunning shots from Prague and other locations. A beautiful country that was largely hidden from the west for years.
The AATB video has about 65K views in less than 12 hours. Habits took 24 hours to reach 60K. 6851 Likes (98.2% of the ratings).

I love the different voice each of the ladies brings to the song. The harmonies are great and they did a lot of transitioning smoothly. Casey and Adam came in right on cue and stepped up their four hand bass (esp. Casey in the second half of the solo IMO).
Tusk, I agree. Each of these women have distinctive voices and approaches to their presentation, and, I appreciate that difference. The remarkable thing is how well they blend when singing (harmonizing) together, given their different voices. I suspect that this rendition is likely something they've been working on, since Haley joined the tour, as they travel. (Just like I suspect that's how the a cappella part of Stacy's Mom is a result of something to do while speeding along on the autobahn (or whatever).
I, particularly, get a kick out of the sax & trombone background, straight out of the original recordings of New York, New York. Careful, Scott -- you don't want to be caught "plagiarizing."

I'm glad that this was performed with all three of the girls singing. This is great exposure for Haley and with all three featured I think it brings more attention to the video.

Good points.
I think they put out this video because Scott likes to keep the wheels greased and, being a familiar song, it was something relatively easy for all of them to do.
But it's a mixed blessing.
Having multiple singers in the video, and covering something they had done before, only invites comparisons -- many of them negative. And comments that one singer outshines the others encourages fans of the other performers to make derogatory comments in response.
While I agree with certain points both John & Miguel made, there may be more to it. Given that, at this point, we think that the Caley AATB rendition was the only time that it would be performed by just the two of them on the European PMJ tour, providing the audience with a video of the way they will hear in the remaining shows whets the appetite and stimulates iTunes sales.
Conversely, if it's a Caley version for the remainder of the European tour, people can satisfy their taste for the trio of ladies with the video.
In view of comparison, those who wish to do that are going to (it is a choice) -- and there's not much that can be done about that.

Those were my comments, MAE. I was impressed that they could pull off something that required a lot of coordination of timing and movement seemingly on the fly (without a lot of rehearsal time). The harmonies are really good.
I think the sax and trombone plugged in riffs from several classic songs.

John, sorry that I missed that.
As for the "harmonies on the fly," what most of those of you who haven't spent any time "doing music," is that for people who do this sort of thing for a living -- it's easy. And if it isn't easy, then they probably aren't much of a musician.
The sax and trombone parts could have very well been "utilizing" riffs from many songs. I only really heard the "New York, New York" stuff. (I have hearing loss and the more sounds that come at me, the more I lose.)

RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour
The AABT video broke the 100K milestone! Currently has 105,567 views reported and has only been up 16 hours. 8014 Likes. I don't think the negative comparisons mean much; this video is very popular.
Based on thumbs up ratings, this is the most popular comment:

We need to make Hayley Reinhart a permanent member of the band!!! like....she needs to sing every song. I'M OBSESSED with her voice!!

That she spelled Haley's name wrong suggests she didn't know her, or much about her, before this video. I was surprised that she didn't add a "Like" to the video.
Some of the folks writing WTF-ish comments will show a Like for this video on their channel, then a Like for the Habits video shortly thereafter suggesting they are exploring Haley's work. That's good to see, although no big pop is apparent in hits on the Habits video.
