From Wiki
Quote: It began in England during the early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre. Notable post-punk groups that presaged that genre are Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and Bauhaus. The goth subculture has survived much longer than others of the same era, and has continued to diversify. Its imagery and cultural proclivities indicate influences from the 19th century Gothic literature along with horror films.
So yeah, Arianna is definitely not Goth....I'd say she was more Marlene Dietrich (Femme Fatale) than anything close to Goth...
Which, along with Arianna's wit and humour, fits in perfectly with Scott's PMJ Vintage style

I saw that the other day and was going to make a post about Ariana later.
As I recall, about the 30 minute mark she talks about finding herself as an artist. She had recorded an album when she was younger, then later began doing Jazz covers. But she wasn't sure if that was enough. Ultimately, she took a year off...later wrote a jazz album.
I'm not sure about the order of those things, but the one thing she learned about herself was that she was an entertainer, not a studio musician -- she needs an audience.
Ariana also relates she met Scott Bradlee in New York because his manager and a mutual friend both urged her to connect with him. She subsequently learned "Scott Bradlee Loves Ya" was inspired by her father's "Who loves ya, baby?"

Yuppers -- which I mentioned here: http://haleyfans.com/showthread.php?tid=2180&page=39.
Even though the song is old, I still think Lili Marlene should be incorporated into the show. I suspect Ariana would absolutely slay it -- in the proverbial "good way." Perhaps they avoid it, because (in addition to not being "current"), it's too obvious.

And the world just grows smaller, the connections ever more frequent.
