I sometimes edit the before or after bits because it makes the video overly long if I didn't, when it should be about the song. But it happened right after he finished the song so it stayed on my vid
Wooo! Yeah they sometimes talk a lot and CLEARLY had a problem getting tuned or being in the right key that night, LMAO it's entertaining to watch though. Also just shows how much actually goes into music and being a performer, stuff you don't really think about going into factor.
I edited out a lot of that stuff too. Although apart of me wants to upload the minute long John Mayer impression just because it was hilarious.
Yes Please!!!
I love that stuff and I bet I'm not alone. Thank you Rachel and Tusk for leaving all that stuff in there that you do. I watched all the new vids when you posted them . . . anxious to hear the new music, but after I did I went right back to the "watch-Caley-play-in-the-sand-box" stuff!!!
Why do I do that?!? Haley and Anders had a tight set, well rehearsed, just coming from several days mixing and perfecting, impressive music, liked it; but for some reason I am compelled to head on back to the "under-rehearsed" songs, un-tuned instruments, their fun little repartee (actually, I don't know what it's called when it is just one-sided...Haley to Casey). But whatever it is, I love it! Their chemistry is just inexplicable.
I am no expert on AI but from memory I can't think of anything that even approaches this kind of . . . friendshipmusicalmagic, for lack of a better term, coming from AI or anywhere else. And speaking of creeps and weirdos, what other 20 yr old "kids" are going to show up at AI with a working knowledge of the Great American Songbook, a familiarity with the entire Beatles catalog, and are fluent in jazz?!? It's like they were separated at birth and at AI just recognized their shared musical DNA in each other. I first saw it at Moanin', and I might have been late compared to y'all. For four years now it has just gotten mo betta.
But it doesn't stop at just being musical soul-buds. They are funny, they are 'reportedly' fun to be around (uhhum, I wouldn't know!), they are each other's best friend (per Haley), and genuinely nice people with good families. They are more than singers. They are entertainers! (or maybe I'm just easily amused?!?)
So all this to say, Thank you for including the unscripted, the accidental, the unplanned, the unfit, the unfiltered, and all the other un's. We can take it! And you are both awesome!!!

I am a first hand witness to how upbeat and fun each are individually and together ....they each share a very easy going nature, often with a smile on their faces.
I think Haley slips easily into any circumstances easily, Casey's just a happy dude... my best memory of them together was recently when I met them before the O2 show... they were just a happy young couple enjoying a foreign land together, they weren't 'on' they were just being normal, Haley asking Casey to check if anything was in her teeth before I took a picture of them together...Casey wasn't being a larger than life entertaining, gyrating and grimacing dude, making faces.
He just had this easy smile, they both did, the smile you have when everything is right in your world

I thought an interesting little tidbit on Anders and his family . . .

Steve Grahn, Mattias Malm, Thomas Melau and Friends played this concert at the Malmø Festival, Sweden Aug. 23rd 2013. The concert took place in the so called "Blues Tältet" (The Blues Tent), where several blues concerts took place over more than a week.
In some of the tunes, Steve Grahn and the public had the pleasure, that his two sons, Martin Grahn (dr) and Anders Grahn (voc/gui), came by to support their father. Just in this video, Anders Grahn took over the lead singer roll. All in all, a great concert.
