I'm totally with ya on that one, Tusk. I've never really been a fan of "Imagine" but I've always respected its sincerity, its sentiment, its refusal to give in to real-worldly sobriety, and also admired its balance of the complex and the simple. So there you go. Probably it doesn't fit into this age, but Haley makes it a real-world happening all of her making all over, you just can't dismiss it, she makes it happen.

We should not be deceived by the amazing success of Creep (which is still rising), it can't happen all of the time - Habits has 2.5 mil views on YT, in the company of Morgan's "Take me to church", for example, not shabby at all, lots of pretty good songs have less. It used to be that 100k would be amazing, 100k people who encountered it. Here we take 100k for not much. But it is!

Somehow I think it won't be any of the above, it'll be a surprise. (And if there's any more shine on those cheeks in that photo I swear you'd be able to see the photographer at some point ... just joking!)

Maybe I am just an old and jaded has been hippie, but I think the song is a bad choice. There was a time I actually thought the lyrics/message was something noble to aspire to. ...

Actually I'm pretty much onboard with that. I don't find the vision moving. But the melody is great and I love the feel of the song. It is a classic.

Perhaps one of the reasons it hasn't been on more singing shows has to do with the lyrics. In Season 10, Scotty won and Lauren came in second (not the core demographic for Imagine). I imagine producers at AI might have feared the lyrics would have been off putting to many viewers. The Voice is a bit edgier.

Regardless, I'm not convinced Imagine would bring the big view numbers for Haley and PMJ. If they do record the song I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

It is slightly edgier. But it isn't even the edgiest song Sawyer sang, he also sang an anti-police song and still dominated with it. (I love this kid. But, truthfully, I think he could have covered Eminem and it wouldn't have mattered.. )

The thing is though, despite it being somewhat of a socialist song, when done right, it can be very innocent. When you talk about "All Time Idol moments" David Archuletta's "Imagine" has to come up. But of course, the song coming from Haley and the song coming from, say, Lauren..is going to deliver a different message.

I don't think it'll bring in the huge numbers either. But it's likely to be one of the best.

It's also a song that could latch on to some movement in social change, like what happened recently w/ the Supreme Court decision and marriage. It's definitely a song that people have different interpretations for, some seeing it as a an attack on the concept of religion, as opposed to an idealized philosophy of 'love everyone, hate no one'....

It may not reach uber popularity, but it also has potential to be a song for a movement, whether done by PMJ or someone else.

I can't wait for whatever it is - the comment "class it up" does not lead me to believe Imagine is it. Who knows we will find out ?. Her black long gloves and dress don't match any Lennon song IMHO.

Cygnus Xone Honestly, I was a fan of Haley's from Idol. Especially her Zeppelin tune she did and Alanis. I also enjoyed her with Morgan James and Ms, Savalas doing All About That Bass, But then I watched her live with those same two woman doing Burn and am now totally turned off by her. She looked bored on stage, she looked like she wasn't having fun, and it appeared to be because she wasn't the in the spotlight. The other two wonderful women were up there giving it their all, and haley showed nothing but boredom, imo. Ms Reinhart, people are paying good money to see a good performance, please don't let them down. As a former performer, there were nights I wasn't feeling my best, but I left that backstage and gave my all to the paying customers and for my fellow bandmates. Without the paying public, we don't have careers in showbiz. PMJ is a team effort, not a solo act. Anyway. I'm still a huge fan of PMJ, just not so much Haley. Looking forward to more Morgan and Lara Johnston, Ashley and of course, Robin.
