Never Knew What Love Can Do featuring Haley is track #4. It sounds great. I prefer the live version, but it's very good nonetheless.

I already put the songs on my phone. I had to add the "feat. Haley Reinhart" part, because for whatever reason it doesn't say it in the downloaded title.



His EP has a very live sound to it, similar to what we've heard Haley's is supposed so sound like.

It's $15 for 5 songs, which is kind of a lot, BUT if you want to hear a new studio recorded song that Haley is featured on, and you're itching for new music as much as I am, and you DON'T WANNA WAIT ANY LONGER FOR IT, SAY F IT and go get it now!!!

It's a fantastic EP, reminds me of something you might hear on vinyl in the late 70's, my favorite is easily "Never Knew What Love Can Do" and "Shining a Light" which I heard debuted at Room 5. They may be my favorites because I've heard them many times before. I'll have to listen to the others a bit more, they will probably grow on me too (I've heard Cougar town before, it has a cool beginning, I like that one too )

it's a very good sounding EP, the only problem is they need more songs on it

I had preordered the EP as well and downloaded it today. It's a pretty cool EP, Casey and the Ginger Bread band have never sounded better. Of course my favorite song is NKWLCD with Haley.

Shindig IV story:

Last Thursday 11/19 we all went to the dinner theatre presentation of Elf near Wheeling. We drove in two vehicles to the event...Himm2 and his wife Cheri, Penny, Barb, Pat, Laura and Buzz, with Patti Reinhart driving separately and meeting us there.

After the event was over, the Halien ladies said "we need to ride with you Buzz because we want to listen to the new Casey EP". They were afraid to request playing the EP in Himm2's car because as we all know some of our Halien spouses may not be as enthusiastic about our Haley addiction.

Furthermore, it turned out that Captain Dinkens (Himm2) offered to drive Patti home in her vehicle as she was running on only 2 hours of sleep. Cheri drove the other car by herself and the ladies of the night rode with Buzz...listening to and singing NKWLCD along the way. The funny part is we later found out that Himm2 and Patti were listening to the same EP in her car on the ride home.

Tales from the GingerBread House is indeed terrific. Casey's 11-song first album gave us three songs that I was, and am, completely obsessed with: Dry Spell, Blame It On Me, and Hit the Road Jack. With the new EP, it's five for five.

While I agree that Never Knew What Love Could Do is the best on the EP, every time I listen through the rotation, I cannot decide on my favorite. When I shut off the music, I know that NKWLCD is best, but the others are very, very close.

This studio version of NKWLCD completely shocked me. I have watched Tusk's "back-to-back" Room 5 video many times, and the song and the repartee are fun -- alot of fun. But just that.

On the other hand, the performance in Tusk's Triple Door video showed that even without Haley there, this song is a monster:

But in the studio version, this monster -- backed by the rollicking horns, and plugging the smoldering Haley Reinhart back in -- is breathtaking. Usually, I love the physical performances, either live or video, to go with my favorite music. With this number, I just want to lay back in the dark and let this sound engulf me.

This performance presses all my buttons. Not looking for agreement here, but for me this is the best number I have ever heard by Casey or Haley, individually or together.

So smooth, so cool.

My second favorite tune on Tales from the GingerBread House is (for the moment) Caught. The chorus to this song is such a great hook.

The song is rocking, and the lyrics are likely to stir up some memories being compelled to "steal a glimpse" . If fact, even though this song predates the CHFIL commercial, doesn't it perfectly capture the first vignette?

I just want to climb into this song -- singalong, dance, dust off the old sax, whatever. But I can't compete with Jacob and the crew, nobody wants to see me dance, and I couldn't find the lyrics.

So here's my take on the lyrics. I'm sure it needs help, especially the "criminal" line.

I'm digging all this love Haley and Caley are getting in Billboard lately.

Abrams said neither he nor Reinhart had any idea that the Extra gum commercial would take off the way it did, and on the last day of recording the song, there were "so many people there with cameras and producers and mixers, I realized, 'Whoa, this is a serious commercial.'"

"It was really cool to play for all those people. I just saw the commercial the other day on TV in the hotel room, and thought, yeah, this is awesome!" he said. "That’s my friend singing!"

But Casey should never compare his voice to Haley's like that. LOL.

John, your joke the other day made me smile, but it also later make me think. In my enthusiasm for "all-things-Haley", I have a tendency to take Casey for granted. We know Haley's esteem for Casey. We can't know, however, how Haley's career path might have differed had the two of them not crossed paths.

Speaking for myself, I only tuned in to Idol Season 10 after hearing a bit about Casey, and that was after he had already been eliminated. When I started searching back for Grapevine, and Georgia, and Harder to Breathe, and Nature Boy, and Do Right, I was hooked. And, because I'm (proudly) sexist, I really noticed Pia and Haley, both sexy gals with terrific voices. I never got past that stage with Pia, but three things about Haley captured me: her spunk, God Bless the Child, and especially Moanin'. I suspect that when Season 10 ended, individually, I would have lost track of Casey and Haley. However, it has been their special chemistry that has kept me a fan for five years.

We all know the part Casey has played in so many of Haley's career steps since Idol: StageIt, NOJO at Carnegie Hall, Room 5 et al, SMYM, Baby Its Cold Outside, PMJ and the subsequent CHFIL. Can't say how much Casey has been responsible, but HELL, HE WAS THERE (with all due respect to The Greatest Book Ever).

If I were preaching, I'd be preaching to the choir right now. Sometimes I just have to give myself a little reminder.

All of the above pales with how great a performer I think Casey is in his own right. My reminder today is Just One More Time off the new EP. Again I needed some lyrics, cause I just gotta sing along.
