Haley's Contributions to "Tales of GingerBread House" EP

Casey's EP sounds really good; I think I'll buy it when I get the money.

Really worth the money! Plus a great chance to support both Casey and Haley.

Interview with Casey, he had some nice things to say about Haley:

Oh, we constantly work together, it happened to be in the studio this last time, and it was awesome. She kills it. She does backgrounds for a couple of the songs. On “Cougar Town”, she’s singing in the chorus with me. She takes direction really well, but she also adds so much. She added this whole gospel choir in the middle of “Cougar Town” that had harmonies that I would not have thought of. Not only is it fun to work with her, she adds so much to the project.

That took me by surprise. As many times as I've listened to Cougar Town on the new EP, their voices blend so well I never picked her out.

Of all the performance videos of Cougar Town that are available, I haven't been able to find one with Haley. So, I've just had to "imagine" her performance to do a lyrics video. And since I couldn't feature her blended vocals, I thought I would pay tribute to her recently enhanced dance moves. Not sure I did them justice, but I hope you like it anyway.

Some tricky words in this song. I'm pretty sure "Bolivia" is wrong, and I have no idea what is "1000 miles long". Corrections appreciated.

I did manage to get one "like" across the five lyric videos I did for Casey's new EP over the past two weeks. So, not quite a complete waste of time.

After hearing the intro to this it made me feel like it is a hommage to Jan Johansson. If I remember correctly Casey have named him as one of his inspirations. On the album i'm thinking about he took old swedish folk music and turned them into jazz. The other way around vs PMJ. Here is my favorite track from "Jazz på svenska", and happy christmas from Sweden.

Really loved your link. Spent last evening with the whole album on repeat. Turned off the background Christmas music. Turned on Mr. Johansson and got a house full of mellow. His wiki entry mentioned some swing in his background. Didn't really find anything. Got anything there?

I don't come to this site so much for Haley news as much as the musical tastes of the folks that mingle here. Their love of Ms. Reinhart's stylings is a pretty good indicator that I'm gonna like the links I follow here. Certainly, View From Utanmyra is a case in point.

When I saw Haley again at the after party in New Orleans at Irvin's Jazz Playhouse, I told her it was my favorite new cover that she'd done. She told me she and Dylan had talked about performing it, but had never rehearsed it before that night

Never rehearsed it before, but still one of my favorite things by Haley. If not for Tusk and Christopher capturing that night, we likely would have missed this gem forever.
