2020 could be challenging for Haley. What next?

I'd beg to differ, on tour, Haley transformed many of her originals into full on rock and roll spectaculars.  At least from my channel's point of view, of late, Haley's most rock and roll performances like Shook in Chicago have been getting on average more views than her jazz/pop performances.  We know that Haley's "Wild Horses" has been a very popular video for years since I posted it, closing in on 3.5 million views in 4 years (2019 will be the first year since posted WH doesn't get 1 million views in a year).  That's an untapped market for Haley as far as I'm concerned.  WH brings in a lot of eyes from the rock fans, I expect that's where the bump in the more rock videos come from...  Upgrading her touring bands with two exceptional guitarists also pointed her music towards a more rock experience.  Good or Bad from Seattle quickly got over 50,000 views in a little over 5 weeks, remarkable for a Haley original....

What I think and what I want from Haley are just personal tastes in music and an opinion. So...

1. Work on her YouTube channel. Create musical content, and continue to be in the know with her socials.

2. Work her butt off promoting her music and overall brand.

3. CHRISTMAS ALBUM of originals, and covers. Just cave Haley just cave and make one. Trust me on this. lol jk

4. PMJ? Is it over? Or is it just not a priority right now? :/

In the end it doesn't matter what WE think. She will continue to do what SHE wants. Not what fans want/think she should do. IMO

Ten days later I still feel the same...

YouTube may not seem like a big deal to bigger artists, but when you are indie? It's one of the crucial elements to success. IMO

She needs to do covers/originals and maybe even try livestreaming a concert...

Merch making is crucial and while she does make good merch...

She could do a yearly official fanclub membership, special merch for her Halien army. If not that just make more stuff like Halley song/lyric shirts or something like that!

I agree with the YT comment. That's where most people post-Idol have discovered her. Primarily through PMJ and Tusk's channels. Streaming a live performance would be good way to maintain interest, build up her channel's content and fill the creative void while she's producing a new body of work.

I've considered asking her if she'd be interested in posting one of my 'full show videos'.  I've made several over the years as DVDs and Blu Rays, mostly as keepsakes, as even though they have sentimental value, they could be better quality.  In 2019 I was able to capture better audio over all thanks to access, in combination with some shows having multiple angles thanks to TeamHaleyFans.  I think The Chicago/Park West show could be a good candidate, including performances with Harry, Santa Ana might be also be a good candidate, quality wise, that Haley might post it on her channel

If she went this route, I think it should be "fresh" content in the sense of live recordings of songs people haven't seen her perform. They don't even have to be backed by a full band. They could be simple acoustic recordings like her performing "Santa Baby" with Balam or "Dear Prudence" with Morgan and Doug.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

RE: 2020 could be challenging for Haley. What next?
I agree she should post more live "fresh" performances, my point is she should be putting up more content period, that's why I mentioned the 'full show' video, over an hour and a half.  At least it's unique, people love Haley's live performances, sometimes more than the recorded, and obviously I wouldn't want her to put it up if she didn't think it was up to snuff, I'm just offering up options.

Haley began having activity again on her channel when Jay arrived, he started posting videos, mine as well as even his 'cell phone' video of Haley performing w/ Jeff Goldblum.  Sure my videos aren't 'professional' but they at least drew activity to her channel, gaining subscribers.  When new fans want to learn more about Haley, they would go to her channel.  Mine is just an alternate, that's why I try to do the best job I can, even if they are still just amateur, it gives Haley's fans something to consume.....

Say what you will about my videos, but they do draw attention to Haley and her live performances.  Last year my channel drew 5.8 million views.... this year I will fall short of NINE million views by about 100,000.  That's no mistake.  Haley's recent output and popularity, Jay reviving her channel and my channel output thanks to getting access for better audio, that has all combined to increase interest... I mean from 5.8 to almost 9 million views in one year is pretty significant.

The point is content.  As we see, as soon as Jay left, there's not near the same activity on Youtube or Twitter, that's not coincidence.  If there's no content, there's no interest after the initial discovery, period.  In this short attention span society, people will move on.

Of course Haley shouldn't put up just any old video, ONLY the ones that she feels are good enough, and I'm fine with that.  My point is, there is content, TeamHaleyFans provides it, and if they are good enough, then she should post them on her channel as that's where fans will go to first.

Team Haley gave me access to record audio, in fact they asked me to send them audio from shows they missed (hopefully they may be able to engineer live audio recording in the future from them).  IMO Seattle, NYC, Santa Ana and Chicago may have audio they, with their engineering expertise and equipment, may be able to produce something MUCH better than I could with my 'Best Buy' software.  Either way, it's about content and keeping interest, if not mine, then someone else's.  YouTube has long reach and a HUGE stage in these times for artists to engage their fans.  It's not an 'ego thing' that I suggest this, I'm just offering options.  The further away we are from her Idol season, the more difficult it is to hold interest from new fans.

Haley has yet to post a video for her third Christmas song issued this year, she barely said anything about her 3rd EP single, "You Send Me".  At the very least these should be on her channel.  Something is better than nothing.  Audiences these days need engagement or they move on

PS, since June of Last year, Team Haley has asked me to not post so many videos in a row, I took it as a condition for letting me get access for cleaner audio, better video.  They didn't want me to flood the interwebs w/ videos.  I used to post videos every 3-4 days, now it's every 5-7 days.  So considering that I post fewer videos now, the increase in views on my channel over-all is even more impressive, more views from fewer videos?

Merry Christmas everyone!  I haven't posted in a while but still check the site daily and I appreciate what all of you have to say. 2019 was pretty good for Haley, and it sure has been fun following along on her journey.  Best wishes for the new year, and I can't wait to hear what Haley has in store for us in 2020.

Hoping we get some new content in the form of fresh music and videos this year... Maybe live recordings in the future?

A live album from Haley would be amazing for peeps like me who have never seen her solo shows...

How prescient this thread title?  I doubt anyone had "pandemic" on their bingo card Tongue

I figure to put this interview here.  It's over 40 minutes long and Haley goes pretty in depth about her thoughts.  One of the things of interest, she talks about her EP and that one of the songs is one that's she worked on six years ago w/ a Producer in the UK.

My guess is it's w/ Anders.  I met Anders for the first time when I saw Haley w/ PMJ in the UK.  That show was the final one of PMJ's European tour.  I distinctly remember Haley stayed in the UK for about a week after the tour w/ Anders....

A week earlier, March 25, 2016, crossing Abbey Road, Haley tags Anders.  I think they did something at Abbey Road studio during that time too.  This is after the PMJ show in the UK
