Haley shows with Michael Feinstein in 2020
I think this one's a new one, and not starring anyone else but Haley w/ Feinstein, singing Gershwin to Carole King....

https://www.playbill.com/universe/youve-...d-2020-2-7

"By combining both of their natural musical sensibilities they create a unique experience that is fun yet musically rich. “You’ve Got A Friend” pays tribute to a wide range of artists such as: Frank Sinatra, James Taylor, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Carole King and many others to create an evening of music that you don’t want to miss."

WARNING!!!

I think I've just been screwed. Based on this posting YESTERDAY, which by the way accurately reflects what is still being advertised on the Cerritos Center website, last night I purchased an orchestra seat for $100 and airfare to Long Beach to see Haley at this performance. Now TODAY, it is announced that Haley is adding a US tour, which includes Asbury Park, NJ on April 10, the same day as this event.  Normally I wouldn't have jumped so fast on a trip like this, but there was one exceptionally good orchestra seat available, and it is Easter weekend, so I expected that airfares should go up soon substantially. I thought it was a smart move to act fast. I had no reason to doubt the information. However, I did get an uneasy feeling when I got my email from the center acknowledging the completed purchase with the description "Featuring Special Guest Laura Osnes." I figured that since we haven't heard about this date until yesterday Haley probably was a recent replacement for Laura, and not vice versa. By the way, I have nothing against Laura Osnes. She is a major Broadway talent and appears frequently at Feinstein 54 Below in New York. I saw her here in Las Vegas last year as part of a group of performers from the Broadway musical Bandstand. But, I am not an Osnian, I am a Halian. I would not have arranged this trip if I knew it was Laura Osnes instead of Haley. And, as much as I respect Michael Feinstein as an American musical icon, I am not a Feinsteinian either. I was looking forward to a Feinstein/Reinhart performance.  By the way, the center advertising does not just list Haley by name, it lists all of her albums, implying that she is a significant part of this performance.

Anyway, I don't blame Haley for this, because I don't recall seeing her ever acknowledging this date, which we just found about on this site yesterday. But, there obviously must have been some advance coordination, as I don't think Michael Feinstein would have just provided this information to the Cerritos Center without Haley's knowledge.

I haven't called the center yet, but I assume they will not be very receptive to offering me a refund. I expect them to say, "Michael Feinstein is still scheduled to appear, and supporting talent is always subject to change." I purchased trip insurance for the flight, but I don't think that "Haley isn't going to be there" is covered. Somehow, there has been a lack of coordination by someone, and fans (me) ended up getting screwed in the process.

Now if it turns out that the Asbury Park date is an error, and Haley is flying back to Cerritos to do this date, I sure would like to know this before I make any attempt to undo this mess. Somehow, I doubt this is the case however.

More often than not 'the customer comes first!".... I'm sure there's probably something that says no refunds or whatever, but I don't think it'd hurt to explain your situation, take screen caps of the incorrect posting, they can see someone messed up.  Unless you're dealing w/ a machine, it doesn't hurt to talk to someone and if you do it soon enough, you may get your money back?

Tell them you were willing to fly across the US to see Haley, who they'd advertised falsely, that should be factored into whether they can give you a refund.  It was because of their mistake that you made plans and the purchase in the first place.

ps there was a program recently that said 'flight insurance' is a big scam.  if you read between the lines, it only covers specific hardships, like death in the family or natural disasters or the like, not anything mundane like misunderstanding a schedule

RE: Haley shows with Michael Feinstein in 2020
OK, I called the Cerritos Center and here's what they said...

Haley is scheduled to perform with Michael Feinstein on April 10. The representative put me on hold for quite some time and then confirmed that they stand by their advertising. She said that Laura Osnes was originally scheduled for this performance and has subsequently been unable to make this date, and Haley was signed to replace her. She was firm that they have signed contracts to support this, and that this didn't just happen, but it has been like this for some time. She said that she just had this verified, and her contract still is in effect. I told her that Haley's tour announcement seems to make this logistically impossible, and she suggested that someone get back to Haley for clarification.

As for flight insurance, I never get it for Southwest because I fly them all the time and can always use the funds for future flights. In this case I have a reservation on Jet Blue, which I have never flown before, and the trip insurance is pretty inexpensive. I do have several elderly relatives and I'm always aware of the possibility of something happening to one of them, in which case the insurance would cover the situation. Now for international trips, trip insurance is strongly suggested.  And, it is not cheap.  But, a good policy will cover many contingencies, such as missed connections/trip interruption due to the airline, lost baggage, illness, evacuation home for medical treatment, etc.

Oh man, sorry to here your story ButterandBloom. The Cerritos show is not on Haley's website and NJ is, which does not bode well for this one.  I hope things work out.  I wish I hadn't stumbled on to the announcement.

Bandsintown uploaded the Feinstein/Reinhart 4/10/20 event at Cerritos Center on their site on December 6, 2019.  It is still listed.

Michaelfeinstein.com still lists it.

The Cerritos Center website still advertises the event with Haley, without change.

The person that I talked to at the Cerritos Center didn't sound like a newbie just answering the phone and reading from some list. She sounded competent and took time to confirm the information. She said the date is firm.

Yes, and I just looked and Asbury Park is still on Haley's schedule.

Haley is advertised to appear with Michael Feinstein tomorrow, Feb. 7, at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA. Perhaps this confusion can be straightened out by then.

Times like this is when we could use someone like Jay.  He was definitely quirky, but I have to give him credit that he was responsive and enthusiastic.

edit:  There'll be an announcement shortly, if not tomorrow

Looks like you'll be able to see Haley at Feinstein's after all...

Bummed to announce we have to reschedule our upcoming show there, which would have been on April 10th. Thanks for your understanding, I love Asbury Park & will most definitely be back! Can’t wait till then!

I'm glad the conflict came to light before tickets to the Lo-Fi tour went on sale. Getting from Cerritos to Pittsburgh the next day will not be fun.

171 flights. Only one is non-stop (on Spirit) and it's not feasible (2:50 PM – 10:19 PM). Best option might be: 6:45 AM – 4:06 PM or leaving the night before: 11:50 PM – 9:38 AM. Other flights are of longer duration.
