$kip, Well from my idols of course. But the person who really got me in to this kind of this music probably, "Haley Reinhart". You might not know her, she's from American Idol, and I just adore her voice, everything.

I had never heard of $kip, so I looked him up. He has a Wikipedia entry:

In 2011, he joined in a local competition, where he sang Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets". As a result, he didn't won, nor placed in the competition, but there he was discovered by his former record label.

In 2012, he left his old label, and moved to another one. There he became more of a notable artist after he recorded his debut single, "Skippin'" which it's title was actually an idea from his name and got a hit in the Philippines, where it peaked in the Philippine Charts in top 8.
