The Hollywood Reporter confirms Idol appearance by Haley

After reading all these comments and I have to say a lot of them are negative I just wonder if Haley's being judged all over again? This young woman is living out her dream and I can only imagine the excitement that she felt prior to going on and doing her performance. I remember watching one of her videos it was the house of blues and she had just sang Free. Her response to the applauding crowd was, did you like it? I don't know if she had anything to do with the production of her performance, but she went out there and she gave it her best shot. I just wonder. How many of her so-called fans are going to stay with her or jump ship because of this performance. I have a lot more to say but it looks like how I feel has already been expressed by other intelligent fans. This is her first single she still has an album coming out with 14 cuts on it I wonder how everybody will respond to that. It just really bothers me because up until this point everything that Haley did was spot on. It's a fickle fan base, just saying.

By the way, I thought Haley's performance last night was magnificent in case anyone cares. My only regret is I wish it would have been the full version of “FREE,” but I nevertheless had already anticipated that it would be an abbreviated version beforehand.

I don't believe her fans are fickle. You won't be reading nit-picking comments from me. I left that last year with bad memories of J-Lo and Randy.

There is a difference between criticism and expressing personal preference or restating what you ideally imagined would happen on the show. I believe the posters here and many on the blogs are doing the latter.

Who cares what a 50-something fan has to say about the clothes of a 21 year old beauty and what gives them credentials to criticize it? If I have a favorite color and she doesn't wear it should I post a criticism of the color? I think its great to see what Haley chooses. We get a dozen variations of what her production should have been from armchair fans and ignore the crew of industry professionals, the best in the business that Interscope is lining up. The common theme is we all want the best for her.

If you read this Haley, we just love you that much.

This marketing machine is just ramping up. If the international sales just started, wait till tonight or after the weekend after EU gets rolling. There are many more promotions coming and many more performances. Each new one does not have to be our new favorite.

And she DID sing the song live. It could not have been physically staged and set-up during a commercial break. It was done at start of show ONCE and LIVE with that audience contiguous to the show. It is no more non-live than the west coast delayed feed.
