Neara was replaced by Keith Phelps. He's a youngster from North Carolina, I believe. Courtney on bass is Courtney Leonard. He is Haley's music director. Notto and Breezy Lovejoy, the drummer, are apparently sitting this leg of the promo tour out.

Haley Reinhart, 21, won the hearts of millions on the tenth season of American Idol with her bluesy, soulful voice — she ultimately came in third — and now she's debuting her brand new single, "Free". The music video was just released today and Haley stopped by the Seventeen office to tell us all about it. Keep reading to see what she had to say, plus her breakup tips!

Seventeen: Let's talk about the video!

Haley Reinhart: It takes place in a 50s-style diner. I wanted it to be simplistic, yet fresh and playful. The song itself is a breakup song, but it's a much more mature way to go about breaking up, so I wanted to keep it new and spunky.

17: Is there a guy in the video?

HR: Yes. He's a cutie. He was fun to work with. His name is Tom and he was so sweet. We had a lot of fun filming the video.

17: How does it feel that this is all coming together and that the world is going to be able to see your music?

HR: It was a 19 hour day, but by the end of it I had tears in my eyes. I thought, 'This is my music video.' It was unbelievable. It's a beautiful thing to know that I made this happen at a young age, but at the perfect time. I couldn't have planned it any better. This is exactly what I wanted to happen. This is exactly who I was, who I am, and who I want to continue to be. It's really, really cool.

17: Since the video is about going through a breakup the mature way, do you have any breakup tips?

HR: The song is really relatable to me. That's how I go about all breakups. It takes me a while to break up with someone, and then I end up crying while I do it. I basically tell a person that I still love them and I know they love me back, but in order for me to be the happiest person I can be, it's going to be good for both of us if we separate. I end up being good friends with all my ex-boyfriends. For me, it's not an awkward situation because I liked the guy enough to date him in the first place, so why not be able to break it off but still be friends?

17: What do you think is the worst way to break up with someone?

HR: I would never break up with someone over email or text. That's horrible! It's the wimpiest way possible! Do it in person.

Wired Exclusive: Haley Reinhart Talks New Single & Album (Video)

Haley was kind enough to speak with Allie Is Wired about her music, her career and what’s next for the Idol contestant turned star.

Haley, tell us about your new single “Free”

“‘Free’ is the first song I recorded while on tour with the American Idol group. From the second I heard those raw piano chords I knew I wanted to put my stakes on this one. The message of the song can be interpreted in a couple different ways. After everything with Idol the song became sort of a branching out, wanting to be free kind of thing. The song is about finding my own adventures, going off on a new journey. But in a literal sense, it is definitely an empowering break up song. It’s like telling someone ‘No matter how much we love each other, it’s better off if we break this off and let ourselves be free.’”

The music video was just released, how would you describe it? What was it like shooting your first video?

“It was amazing! It was very cool because I got to give a lot of input creatively. I had this whole idea in my head of having a 50s style diner with a very dynamic twist to it. But it also has a very roaring 20s kind of look to it. I had a lot of fun and to have so much of what I had thought of in the video was really something special.”

Ok great, talk to us about your debut album “Listen Up!”

“Yes, it will be released on May 22nd and I am really excited. This is something that I put a lot of thought and effort into. I wrote and co-wrote everything, with the exception of “Free” since I recorded that while I was on the Idol tour. Everything has been very thought through, but it was a really fast process. I recorded something like 30 songs in two months with different producers and co-writers. I really want this to be something that people can look at as a piece of art and I want them to see me as a true artist. This music truly defines me and whole I am.”

You performed “Free” on “American Idol,” how was it coming back?

“Coming back to Idol was fantastic! I got to see a lot of old and new faces. Everybody was so proud and rooting for me! To come back having my own stuff going on now at this point was very cool. I had a lot of emotions coming back, just thinking about how crazy it is and how amazingly stressful and unbelievable the show was. It was great to be back!”

How was your experience acting on “90210?”

“It was so cool. I really was digging working with Jessica Lowndes. Even though I was playing myself, I was memorizing my lines and yeah it was so fun. I’ve been acting as long as I’ve been singing so I definitely want to get into acting more.”

Do you have any performances coming up?

“Well, we are thinking of possibly doing a summer tour, but right now we are actually doing a whole lot of promotion for the album and single. I’m going around everywhere trying to spread the word about ‘Listen Up!’ and ‘Free.’”

“Twitter is a good outlet and also my website is a great place to check everything out. You can preorder the album there as well. Also I have my own channel now on Youtube for the music videos. So they’ll have to check all of that out!”

Yes, the "Idol" coquette who vampily lounged Fabulous Baker Boys-style on a piano for "Benny & The Jets," had a wind-machine whip her golden curls during "Rhiannon," and on last week's "Idol" results show performed in a gilded birdcage ups the glamour factor even more in "Free," albeit in a tasteful and charmingly old-school way. Let Britney and Rihanna giggle and gyrate all over the screen in their fleshy, pandering videos--I'll take Haley's class over that sort of crass any day.
