Beatles? Page nine of the thread? Woot!
Thank you John for giving me an excuse to direct people to the Love Potion Number 9 Thread (again)...
You should be more careful

Nice! Love all those classic rock gems.
I'm not policial enough to like that Warren Zevon vid, but I LOVED that Pomplamoose video. A big departure from their usual folk/indie sound, but I loved it. She is so fun! Thx John

I don't care too much for the LGAM video but the other versions I tried didn't have good audio. Maybe I should have stuck with Werewolves of London. I was hesitant to put up another Pomplamoose video but the tune is quite good. I watched way too many videos last night.

John and FM: You guys got me thinking <ooch>, maybe some of the haleyfans.com people would like SCW. I love those guys, especially the singer's voice and style (reminds me a bit of David Clayton-Thomas). My friends never let me do the Wheelies so I hope you like them.
My first True Love was Blood Sweat & Tears (Haley is my second):
And this is for the T-Man. Steely Dan - Then and Now:
Holy time travel T-Man! Donald Fagen and Walter Becker sure have changed
RE: Music Videos - Tusk - 07-13-2012
Thnx LovinDa, love me some Becker and Fagen.
It was said they didn't tour much in their Hey day because they liked the 'wacky tobackey' too much so didn't want to tour because they didn't want to get caught.
Physical differences aside, they seemed to be in a hurry on that version of "Reelin' in the Years" and Becker, so smooth with the guitar, par excellence on "Josie".
I was lucky enough to see Steely Dan twice, once outdoors at the Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington (with a little assistance from some 'special cookies' ). Both times, they were incredible performances, every musician sounding amazing, and Becker and Fagen were at the top of their games. One of the top five live audio experiences I have heard in person. Loved their album "Aja"
Aja documentary
Their love of Jazz, rock and pop, I wouldn't be adverse to a Haley colab with them, I think she could learn a ton from them. Very interesting their take on the difference between west coast and east coast musicians, back then, as well as the musicians talking about the challenge of making reality what Fagen and Becker imagined for their songs.
Aja the full album
FM is a favorite..."give me some funked up music...."
RE: Music Videos - LovinDaHaley - 07-13-2012
I so agree T-man. They definitely rushed Reelin (boo hiss). No doubt just a shorter version of the song would have been a better choice for meeting the time constraints of the show (but we know why their judgment may have been a bit skewed don't we).
And who doesn't love the Aja album? (If you don't like the Steely Dan Aja album just go delete your user account from this site - I'm sure Haley would agree.)
Thanks too for posting those addition DanFan vids, but now you owe me $55 for making me order...
RE: Music Videos - Tusk - 07-13-2012
Isn't that stuff supposed to slow you down, not speed you up?
Looking at the reviews for the DVD, most everybody loves the audio but are disappointed with the video/interviews for multiple reasons. Maybe you can save some $ by just getting just the CD.
I would wait for them to come 'to a town near you' for the full experience. (although I haven't seen them live in over 10 years, so can't vouch if they can still bring it.....but usually blues/jazz men get better with age )
