The perception of Idol this year, thus far, is they have found some talented contestants. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear many people are watching.
The new show that followed it, Empire, had substantially more viewers.
And the audience is already falling off...

After seeing Jax audition on Idol I did go to YouTube and checked her out. The fact that she has band experience with Meadowland should help her on the show. It is impressive that she is only, what, 14 in this Meadowland video? I see a lot of composure for a fourteen year old.
As far as her audition goes, I'll have to hear more to decide if she is really the one to follow, but I am intrigued by her voice on I Want To Hold Your hand, and I definitely want to hear her doing other songs. It takes guts to perform such a patient version of a song. To me that shows a great deal of confidence. I also like the quality of her voice and she has one of the things that I adore in a voice--namely a sweet vibrato.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that she looks like a combination of Siobhan Magnus and Sandra Bullock. Hee hee. She is a very cute girl.

Adam Lambert was such a breath of fresh air.
I like Jax, but I've heard that version done better. I also liked Shi, but I feel like if Adam says she's not ready..it's likely she isn't. And the last guy was great too. The guy who sang "Stay" has a ton of potential too.

She overdid it a bit (probably because it was an audition) but I love her voice. If she makes it to the lives, She'll be one I'm rooting for.
It's crazy to me when those types of voices come out of a 17 year old.
