RE: Postmodern Jukebox - Tusk - 02-02-2015
Jacob apparently lost someone who has meant alot to him and his career, Zane Musa....
I tried to look up what the circumstances are, but all I could find was someone referring to a tragic accident. There's not a lot on him other than many of his peers considered him a virtuoso and it seems he influenced Jacob deeply which definitely means something

When I was 15 and first started going to LA jam sessions I had no idea about etiquette or anything really...I was just a kid from Ojai. Zane Musa , you were the one who kept me company, stood up for me, told me what to learn, and how to act. You were respected amongst musicians, the baddest cat in the room, and smooth with the ladies. You always treated me as if I was much older than I was and called me your little brother. From using the same sax equipment, to copying every outfit of yours, all I wanted to be was you, because God knows I didn't want to be me. I'm so glad I told you I love you every time I saw you. I hope you, your brother, & Austin Peralta are happily together now. You've given me a lifetimes worth of things to be grateful for....As long as I'm around, you will be known as a hero.
It must have been a recent accident, Jacob posted the Instagram less than an hour ago, this comment just posted to this youtube

Cannot wait to follow his adventures as he tours Europe w/ PMJ. Especially exciting will be all the Caley shenanigans in Europe when Haley joins

Check out this video of Scott Bradlee
Quote:21st Century Piano Bar: Scott Bradlee at TEDxOrangeCoast
Published on Nov 9, 2012
Scott Bradlee is a New York City-based pianist, arranger, music director, and producer. His music, which seeks to blur the boundaries between genres, has received widespread media coverage and has been featured in television, video games, and film. Currently, he serves as the music director of Punchdrunk's acclaimed immersive theatre work, Sleep No More.
In addition to maintaining a full schedule of both performing and producing, Scott has built an online following, producing viral videos such as "Classic '80s Hits Interpreted
For Ragtime Piano," and "A Motown Tribute to Nickelback." His most recent project, Emote CTRL, is an interactive musical variety show that allows online viewers to contribute to his improvisations, live in real time.
Someone described Scott in one of the comments as a "musical genius". He certainly is a busy boy. It amazes me how many songs he knows and how he can switch from one song to another with no hesitation or interruption.
Watching his hands reminds me of a player piano. LOL Amazing.

Okay, here's a PMJ musical connection...the Skivvies
Here is one of the videos of Morgan James singing with the Skivvies, in this case with her fur coat. PMJ's "Ben the sax guy" is on saxophone.

It's hard to get past the 7 foot clown thing, but the PMJ version of Chandelier is actually quite powerful. It gave me a much clearer grasp of the lyrics to this song. OTT? Sure. Histrionic? Sure, once in the clown suit that's what's going down. But it's emotive. "I'm going to swing from the Chandelier." Sia's version makes me think of carefree partying (that is followed by shame and regret). The sad clown's version brings emphasis to the darker side of the song and suicide as a second meaning to the chorus. May I should forward it to Stephen King.
