Front row seats are $95 and 5th row seats are $115 Wonder why?

In most formal concert halls the first rows are well below stage level and you're looking up and perhaps even have some action at the very back of the stage obscurred .
You are closer to the lead performer but looking up at them (flaskman might like that view if the girls were wearing mini skirts ; ) )
My Mother and Father have had LA philarmonic and Ahmson (drama) season tickets for decades and prefer seats 20 rows back which puts them seated more or less eye to eye with the performers.
For those shows, some of the most expensive seats for the largest donors are the "loge".. the boxes that manage to be quite close in wrapped along the sides yet are a balcony (higher than the stage).
I'm not saying what is better for this show.. just answering the pricing question. I think i'd be at least 7 or 8 rows back...better chance for a performer to make eye cotnact with you there..
For rock or blues concerts I really want to be able to dance.. which really iritates me as it seems like they have seats in front of the stage at almost all venues these days instead of a huge "mosh pit. I got spoiled watching bands at places like the Filmore in San Francisco and huge concerts at stadiums (but that could be quite an intense cruch of the crowd.. literally a crush where you had to physically brace yourself against people on all sides of you to keep standing... especially wathcing a group like metalica or van halen.

I kind of had a feeling that was true when I saw 5th row was sold out but 1st thru 4th row seats were open.

I'm now glad I asked Haley-holic to purchase them for me because the timing of it, I was going to be at the airport or on the way when they became available
That's now doubly serendipitous because of my recent issues with the infection I got on my new laptop from the link for the demo's
I hope she got them as I haven't received a confirmation from her yet.

There really aren't any bad seats at Carnegie hall. My dad took me to New York twice when I was in High School to check out music colleges. We went to Carnegie Hall on both trips 
We sat in the center of the front row of the Parquet for the MET Orchestra and we sat in center 1st Tier for The Philadelphia Orchestra. I'd definitely recommend either 1st Teir or 2nd Tier over the Parquet because neither the sound or the view were as good in the Parquet. And I don't know how to explain it, it's weird, but the sound just kinda floats up to the Tier seating, if you can imagine "floats up" coming at you from all directions 
But for Haley and Casey, first row in the Parquet would be awesome because you'd be just a few feet away from them. I'd personally still go with the Tier seating though. It's the best IMHO, and that's why those tickets are higher priced. I like looking down and seeing the entire stage - all sections and individual players. When you sit in the Parquet you just can't see and hear everything as good.

^ What a dilemma...great sound or right in front? We should be buying or I should be buying...What will Mrs. Buzz say when I go to NYC without her? Oh, the horror of it all...I will pay big time for this adventure, both for the cost of the trip and then the price I pay when I get home.
