Clicking thread takes you to the last post you saw; Possible? - blue22HR - 12-07-2012

Is there anyway this is possible?

I looked and didn't find an option for that.

Someone on another site noted in late October:

Quote:I've learned how to edit the template using the tools that are built in to the software, but (the forum software) doesn't track unread posts in such a way that I could change the links on the index to go to the last unread post rather than the newest post.

...So, for now, I guess the only option is to use the "View New Posts" link at the top of the page. Sorry about that.

There was a discussion of the feasibility of this on the forum software's support forum back in July and August, but no one came up with a solution.

Someone offered some code but another responded, "Won't work, unfortunately. Surprisingly there's no variable defined for this in (the forum software), which makes no sense."

Actually, you can hit the "Green Arrow" left of the topic title. This takes you to the lastest unread post in the topic. (Of course, this only works if you're a registered user & signed in). I'm guessing this is good enough for what you want.

Just don't hit the "Blue Arrow" next to the Forum name! This marks all posts as read. (I've done this by accident a few times and that's pretty annoying).

(Miguel can you delete my first response in this thread? A mistake).
