Since it's Haley endorsed I started watching the show -- online. Can't do that with Idol I don't think. First thing I noticed on the show is that the judges actually seem to get along and have fun together. None of the weird tension that vibes along so much on AI.

I think she fangurled just like the rest of us. (I did so more because she's the same woman who was the voice actor for Tommy on the rugrats.)
The funniest bit was watching CeeLo, Christina, and Adam all get really excited of "Dottie."

Google has a playboy playmate named Monika Leigh but I don't they are one in the same.

The 15 year old was impressive tonight. Doesn't sound like a 15 year old when she sings. I also really liked Juhi and Monika.
I'll also be rooting for "Penny's" sister, hoping that she improves.

GREAT. GREAT Show tonight!!! I love the blind auditions and the emotions that come with it. So much better than the battle rounds. I really didn't care for Christina two seasons ago because she seemed to be all about me,me,me and my Bodacious Tatas. I think she learned by studying what made people love Shakira. She's covered up nicely this year and has really shown a lot of compassion and enhancement of the contestants and not about herself. Adam has a powerhouse team set up.

I really do prefer Usher/Shakira. I just thought the four had better chemistry. But it's not that I don't like Christina and Ceelo.
Honestly, I think it helps that Carson Daly has been so connected to the music industry in a way that Nigel hasn't. He knows these people. No way in hell would he have hired Mariah Carey. Sure, Christina and Adam have had their blowups, but in the end..they are both competent people, capable of giving sound advice.
Also, Christina has never looked better. She's not too thin, she's not overweight. And more importantly, she's tamed everything down. (Makeup, clothing etc..) She's looks beautiful. And her comment last night about runs (which we all knew..) makes me think she would have loved Hales.
I love Christina and Adam's team, but Ceelo has my favorite contestant so far (Juhi). But I also think Blake has the winner. (Holly.) Again. I think Usher will beat him next season, though. (Gut feeling is Usher is going to get the majority of the non country talent, plus, like Blake, he knows how to market.)
edit: I've said this a few times, but despite falling in love with Haley through her idol run, and the amazing album that came out of it (and now the great opportunities she seems to be having.) There is part of me that would have liked to have seen her on this show. Last season, Michelle Chamuel teared up because of how NICE Usher, Adam, Blake, and Shakira were being to her. Meanwhile Haley teared up because Randy Jackson is a..(Finish it with whatever word you'd like to finish it with..) Just because Haley seems like such a sweet, loving individual and The Voice just seems like a better experience for contestants.

Without negating anything you said,
I'd like to give a big dose of admiration and appreciation of the Idol band, led by Ray Chew.
It seem's like Haley had a wonderful relationship with him both personally and an artistic meeting of the minds.
The idol band can be so tight, and so ready to respond with a real chemistry to a singer/artist up to the task. Haley, has a musical knowledge that could work with them in a really symbiotic way as she always seems to be at her very peak when with other extraordinary musicians. (or think of Haley with Clash and Myles Kennedy for an outside Idol performance)
I think Haley's performances would have not been nearly so special without the creativity and flexibility that the band allowed her.... and what they contributed themselves in their own right to the listeners ear with rifts between chorus's etc.
I'm not talking so much about the competition aspect of that but to my joy in hearing them years later. Musicians who can play their own instruments on the Voice seem to be able to push the voice band out of the way better. The voice band does normal rock ok as long as you don't like your ear to dwell on it all in fragments (I'm hearing the bass and drumer and guitar going their many ways as the singer sings and the voice usually sticks to something pretty straight...which is OK(not super but passable) if it's rock)
It's true that Nigel didn't let her pick her songs, and probably tried hard to give her some dogs (and succeed with the bitter vengeful "you oughta know" ).. she had a chance to make all she could with what they gave her... with the aid of Ray Chew. She made them all worth listening

True Haley didn't "Clash" with "Slash" but we were referring to "The Voice" judging concept not the performances or the musicians that back them.
But your point is well taken Tom and on that tangent may I say the embellishing backup props that the X Factor uses overshadows the performers as do the X Factor judges.

Oh, I certainly think in a lot of ways Haley loved her Idol experience.
It's just that one facet of the judging. And the fact that contestants on the voice get actual coaching.
Now, who knows how Haley would have done..but just in terms of that experience. You know, as a fan and a person..I'm still mad at Randy Jackson. Looking back, we watched Haley essentially get bullied (and objectified) every week, with only Steven Tyler and Slezak to stick up for her.
And I know that The Voice hasn't had a breakout artist yet (they will, and I suspect soon.). But these coaches do keep in contact with their artists, and at some point that will help.
The Voice band..eh..I'm pretty sure Slezak calls it Bandzilla, and I kind of agree. I may be wrong, but I get the sense that the sound system is geared more towards live performance than a television performance. (you'll see this sometimes in Award shows too..) With the effect being that singing softly during a instrumental heavy song..doesn't sound as great. I haven't really noticed the issues you are talking about, I've just noticed the..loudness..
