Plenty of Reasons For Chicagoans to Pay Attention to All Star Week

Celebrity Softball Game The Celebrity softball game is loaded with participants with Chicago Connections. Former Cubs Andre Dawson, Rick Sutcliffe and Joe Carter are participating as is former Chicago Fire player Carlos Bocanegra. Former Illinois Coach Bill Self and reportedly Mr. Cub Ernie Banks will also participate.

Former White Sox phenom Bo Jackson who began his career in Kansas City is the lone former White Sox player participating.

The Celebrity roster is also dotted with Chicago connections. Wheeling Native and former American Idol Constestant Haley Reinhart lists the White Sox as her favorite team and Konerko and A.J. Pierzynski as her current favorite players.

Second City has a few connections in the game. Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet and Saturday Night Live Alum Horatio Sanz who grew up in Chicago will both participate.

The Celebrity Softball Game will be aired taped on Monday night after the Home Run Derby. According to ESPN’s schedule, it should be on from 9-10 CDT.

After spending so much time in California, I don't think Haley will be prepared for the heat wave KC has been experiencing.

Haha that's nothing compared to what Chicago just went through! We had 3 straight days of over 100 and a week or two of 90's. Finally back to 80s which feels better and isnt killing me anymore! Haley was home on the 4th (100 degree day) and if she can survive going to a Sox game in that heat, she'll be fine today!

I lived in California for all my life and he gets very hot there especially in the high desert. I owned a small construction company and landed a seven month contract to work in Phoenix Arizona. It required me to be in the attic most of the day.WTF it was like Danties Inferno. You could only work in the attic up to 35 min. at a time and then had to take another half hour break to rehydrate. Okay Haley drink a lot of water oh yeah and the tree must've been hot
