Haley saw Weezer at the Cosmopolitan the other night, got me to revisiting this quirky little band, a nerd's band, singing about sweaters, buddy Holly, isolation, rejection, comic books (xmen, Kitty Pryde), day dreaming .... a light hearted band that wrote about the trivial and absurd.
But boy could they rock.
One of My favorites...
Island in the Sun
"Blue" was the album that first got my attention, probably their best selling, with chock full of songs that made radio play ...
Speaking of quirky 'nerd bands', the Gorillaz

Well, at least I connected with the right term. I sensed that "unraveling" had something to do with it.

What a pleasant surprise one of my favorite Weezer songs performed by Caley @ CityWalk...

RE: Youtube Surfin'
Nice additions. She was ubiquitous at one time, wasn't she? In it's "day" (which was quite a long day ), Tapestry was such a blockbuster album, one couldn't go anywhere without hearing some song from it being played.
So Far Away ... one of my favorite C.K. songs. Watching her during the introduction of that song, she comes across as so quiet, maybe shy. But when I watch how she plays piano, a different self emerges. She definitely expresses herself through her music, -- and particularly her piano. I wonder if, when she's alone she sits down at the piano and really cuts loose. If so, I'd love to be hidden somewhere near, to hear the results.
