That kid is so talented!!!! I wish that he would have shown this side of him -- or had more opportunity to show this side of him while he was on Idol.
But "he's Casey and he just got signed." And, hopefully, he'll get to "blow our minds" (and even more hopefully, he'll ask Haley to help him do that) on his album!

This performance really does showcase some of Casey's talents. It's cool. Video is from 2010.
I'm not usually one to want to limit someone's talent, but in Casey's case, I wonder if he wouldn't be a bit better off showing his audience that he can focus and how extremely good he is at those (umm) 5 things that he's decided to focus on (unlike most of us who can master one or two things, at best). (Because he's so talented, he likely gets bored rather quickly, so moves on to something else. That's why I picked a random 5 areas of music that he could focus on rather than scaling it back.)

He seems to like to experiment with new things a lot, whether an instrument, video technique, or with sound equipment.
Casey tweeted this the other day:
Quote:Yep, this instrument is going on my album. Dean parks killing it on the mandocello.

And he's off and running -- yet again.
I would not be at all surprised to learn that Casey's IQ "clocks" in at a genius level. And, perhaps, many of his "fans" are in that category as well.
However, I still think that he would ultimately be better served -- at least, initially -- by recognizing that those who might be able to support his interests (and by "support" I mean "buy") may be "slowbies" -- those who can't keep up with his warp speed musical shifts.

John, thank you for unearthing this. I had seen this last year in Season 10's early episodes, when Casey was the darling of many and throughout the past year I have tried finding it again.
As to your question: perhaps only Casey knows the answer to that, but you may be right. (Hopefully not.)
