HaleyFans may go missing for a bit

Sometime later today, I intend to make a decision on a new web host.

Once I pull the trigger, the files will have to be moved to one of their servers.

Then the numeric address tied to the HaleyFans.com name will have to be changed.

Once that happens, the site may be unavailable by typing in the HaleyFans.com name until the new address underlying it is propagated across the nameservers that control Internet. The standard line is it could take 24-48 hours for that to happen, but generally it's quicker than that these days.

I will most likely be given the new numeric address once the site is reestablished.

It will be possible to enter the numeric address in your browser bar and get to the site before the name has been propagated. I will post the numeric address here when it becomes available:

Isn't that special. Just when I begin to feel good about myself on this site you move it? Probably for the better as your soon to be former host was painfully slow. I was beginning to feel like I the old 2400 days @AOL. I'm not too sure I'd consider myself all that teachable.

I have paid for new hosting and just submitted a support ticket requesting their help with the migration from the old host to the new host.

The new host will handle the transition. Thus I don't know exactly when things will be happening.

But it should be complete within 12 hours, likely sooner.

It must have happened...the site is very fast now (check out those real time Haley dance moves). I'll have to edit my other post about needing donations for a faster server. It's faster than a Haley "any second now"
