TUSK I need to pick your brain. Once I load a picture into Photoshop can I save that to my documents or can I save it to pictures. Because what I want to do I have a lot of pictures that Hailey and I want to redo them on Photoshop and then save them to a different file. So WOULD the file be your pictures? or would it be documents? thank you for your help.

Create a folder and name it. Then you can always find it later. I have a folder each named "Haley vids" "Haley Pics" and "Haley art"

When you're ready to save a project, go to "file" and "save as". Navigate to the folder you created (Haley art), and rename your photoshop file there (make sure you name it something you can remember what it is, like my recent project I named "HaleyAbbeyrd", so when I have to look for it, it's easier. It's always better to create new folders than use the default ones. That way you can organise things and find them later.

Make sure, if you have important points in your project that you don't overwrite others. So sometimes, when I'm making something, and I get to a point that I'm happy with, I save it with the project name and add a number to it. So for example...I'm happy up to a point, I name it "HaleySig"...then I continue get to another part I'm happy with after awhile and save it as "HaleySig1" "HaleySig2" "HaleySig3" etc.

It's just a way to save your progress, and not have to do all over again. Once you have the final piece, you can go back and delete some of the earlier files, since you won't need them. It's just a way to protect yourself from overwriting and having to redo work.

Another hint if you're making things for the web, is when you're ready to make the final jpg, save your photoshop project including all layers and effects, first. Then "Layers" > "Flatten layers" then go "File" > "Save for Web". Doing this gives you the opportunity to 'streamline' the size of your image for the web, so you can adjust the size of your jpg as small as possible without distorting it. (I have to use this when making sigs for IDF because they require that your sigs must be under 80kb or they will delete them)

OK thanx but in is there a way that it can be an external hard drive after you finish in Photoshop I want to do is get everything fixed done in Photoshop and then transferred directly to a flash drive .

Sure, just navigate to the drive.
Find out the name of your flash drive/external Hard Drive.
go "Save as"> go up folder to "My computer" (It should have a C Drive and whatever your flash drive's name is) navigate to your drive then save it there. Just like navigating to any folder on your computer but do it to the drive.

The easiest way to do it , if my above instructions aren't clear, just save it to your desktop first, then drag it onto your flash drive from your desktop.

Whenever I have Photoshop questions, the internet is your friend. Type what you want to know in google to search it. Sometimes, someone on youtube will make a vid of it to make it more clear. there are lots and lots of Photoshop tutorials on the internet.
