In general, of course, you're right. But, on the other hand, she's got to perform them "live" once they become successful, and, for whatever reason, Haley doesn't seem to want to "embrace" this song.

I hope any of her songs go big, then people will hopefully appreciate the whole album as an artist discovery thing like Adele.

I think that people get that impression because she's just always openly rooted for "Oh My" as the next single and just doesn't talk up Undone at all. In fact I dont think Ive ever heard or read an interview with her where she talks about Undone unless she's asked about it. She's been quite enthusiastic about Wonderland, Wasted Tears and Walking in heaven in interviews Ive read and seen but Undone rarely ever comes up. Considering Undone is one of the favourites to be the next single, you would think she would be talking about it a lot more in interviews just to build up hype for it.

I also remember a post on IDF where someone told Haley that Undone was the most popular on Itunes and she reacted weirdly to that news and then of course, there was her kinda messing up the words to Undone at the Americana performance.

She's also always said that writing Undone was a new venture for her. I dont think she's that into ballads. She rarely ever sung ballads on idol.

I agree with you though id be happy if any of her songs become successful at this point.

that's an interesting statement her not wanting to embrace the song. ITcan go two ways either singing the song just to sing it, or replicating the moment, the grief the sorrow that disappointment and anger that she's feeling. This would be a good test for Hales to get back into that moment of drama like she did in IWHN.

Haley sung it live .. perfectly.. every bit as good or better than the album. Easy as pie for her

I need to post this video of Haley crushing the song live in this thread too.

I rose the question if the higher notes would be a strain to sing live ... not in the least from this performance a week or two ago.

I think it's better than the album even ..

i guess they were just pro musicians sitting in for the event?
any opinions on that?.. amazing what a super pro can pickup quickly if so.
Less is more sometimes,
but they did know where to give.
they really helped at the climax..
listen to the pregnant pause the keyboardest pulls at 3:00 to 3:01 ...that latent holding back of the chord emphasizes the suspense .... mimicing the lenght of a human breath taken before making an important point.
the drummer just holds back and only gives to assist the build to the climax barely touch the symbol.. a bit more a phrase later then the warm of the sustained brush at 3:25 ish
I'd have nice things to say about the bass and the guitar to in their discretion but artistry focused on complementing Haley when they came in.

Haley's singing of Undone at Americana may not have been her best version of the song. But when she sung Undone at IHeartRadio, she killed it! Beautiful video! Thank you Tom for posting it again. And the band sounded great too!

It's the Idol Tour band, I believe. The keyboardist looks familiar and Haley commented on how the event brought back old memories.
