No I want an DSLR! My camera is a Canon Powershot 550. The flash doesnt project far enough, so my pics tend to be dark, and the audio is horrendous. Thats why i always defer to you folks with newer cameras. But I was right in front of Haley in these pics!

My mom has a DSLR and I love it! I would've used it for Casey's show too, but it's so heavy and hurts after a while. And I was standing there for 3 hours. Btw, my red digital camera just broke.....

if your camera is too heavy try using a mono pod. My camera is almost 3 1/2 pounds, 5 pounds with a telephoto lens and it gets very heavy. A mono pod has one leg that telescopes out to the floor and locks. The top\ you screw it to the bottom of your camera so there's nothing to hold. The only thing you have to do is worry about your lateral movements left to right. You can get a small monopod probably at Best Buy or Walmart.

It's incredible the pictures you can take with even low quality camera's

I' not knocking better camera's in the least but the most important part is to USE them ! ; )

The pics in the collage are crops from "low quality" pics from my 3 year old iphone 3g .... I was taking roster pictures and I don't bother getting up close.. i just crop later on my computer after I take them more casually. I cropped and pasted together a collage to send to the girls's parents... everyone appreciates a memory.

I just took them 2 nights ago... take pics.. its fun (thats a reminder to myself.. I don't take enough of them)

I might be able to turn this crowd into Haley fans if i find a way to not make it sound like a Dad telling a daughter what they'd like.

Those are great pictures Tom! Cute kids too! Your right about the cameras. I have an iphone 3g too. But it doesnt have a flash and unless your in the right lighting the pics don't turn out too good. I never cared till I started following Haley and its frustrating when the pictures dont turn out good. My canon 550 only has a 3x optical zoom, so it limits me if im not close to the subject. And there is a delay for the flash, so everyone has moved by time the picture takes.
I was at Costco last night looking at cameras. probably wont get an SLR cause I like being able to put my camera in my pocket. looking at Panasonic Lumix ZS19 as an upgrade.
